Ugly, ugly game. Congrats on the win GG. I'd like to believe the Bills can compete, but if today is any indication of the direction they are going, then I can't say I'm very excited. The Bills deserve all of the flak they get for being a terrible team. Until they can start winning these divisional games, they are insignificant....... Ugh........
We had 20 penalties and 2 turnovers and still won. We got lucky. If we played a better team today this would've been a loss.
And if the Pats played a better team last week, they would have lost. We beat the teams we are "supposed" to earlier this season which is nice. Not that we should be favored to beat TB and BUF but on paper those are much more winnable than NE, ATL, and NO for example.
Why was it "luck"? We won because we outplayed them on both sides of the ball. The penalties were an equalizer that kept us from running away with the game, but the win was entirely legit.
I guess we're not considered the worst team in NFL history anymore. Just shows how fickle the general public is.
Yeah I'll take it we need to beat average teams like the Bills at home. It's luck because you don't usually win many games giving up 2 TO's and 20 penalties.
I thought the Bills D was supposed to be good. Where was Mario Williams? Wasn't he supposed to be the best defensive player on the field?
I knew it was over when Kiko was tackled. With the way this game was going I knew it was over when Kiko failed to score on the interception. Congrats Jets fans. Geno Smith played much like I expected him too. Okay, a little bit better because of McKelvin going down. Poor Justin Rogers. Dude probably played himself out of the league. But still, I figured he would toss at least one TD and one pick. So 2 TDs and 2 Ints was pretty much on par. The media likes to blast Geno for throwing picks. But you know what? Who cares. The dude has the arm to make all the throws and he can move the chains. You know who else had an arm and threw a lot of picks? Brett Favre. And fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I thought for sure our run defense would be at least average against a team that is just okay at running the ball. EJ Manuel... figured this would be a wake up call for him and a lot of my fellow Bills fans who say he is "poised" and don't worry about the check downs. I'm not going to get too down on him since this was his first road game and against one of the best defenses in the league. But still, more than anything I want to see him move the ball all over the field. Honestly, I rather see him complete 50% of his passes and throw 4 INTs if it means throwing for 350 yards and a couple TDs. Congrats again. Should be another close game when we meet back at the Ralph. Hopefully with a fully healthy secondary and not three back-ups.
You also don't usually lose many games where you outgain the other team by 150 yards. The way I look at it is that since the Jets were overwhelmingly the better team out there, it's Buffalo that would have been lucky to win the game, not the Jets.
BAHAHAHAHAHA Jets - 8 sacks despite being held all over the line. Bilal Powell 150 yards against the great Jills D line Bills - 0 sacks. Mario Williams shits the bed once again
Spiller 10 carries, 9 yards, and knocked the fuck out of the game. crying like a baby all the way back to toronto Richardson with a sack destroying your overrated bust qb and shutting down the run
Honestly, 8 sacks, 16 QB hits, 12 tackles for losses. 500+ total yards on offense, 300 yard passer, 100 yard rusher, 2 100 yard receivers. If it weren't for the penalties it would have been a blowout probably, or at least about a 17 point margin. The Jets were the better team in every aspect but discipline.
For all the people getting on Rex in the other thread don't you think he might have given MM a little help in game planning against Pettine? Rex and Marty took the Bills coaching staff to school last night on both sides of the ball.
