I'm sure Idzik, like you said, was there to evaluate talent and yes, he could have been looking at McCarron or Manziel as we might well be in position to draft either one. If Idzik shows up to TB's next game, then there may be something to it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm, sure some dumbass GM will end up spending a high pick on him. He's just not suited to the NFL game. Too small, throws rainbow passes, and yeah, there's that whole personality thing.

well if smith has a similar outing this coming sunday the rumblings will get a bit louder. hey, u just never know - look at kurt warner. simms may just be a very late bloomer at the position and may have found his learning curve at this particular point - with the current offensive system and coordinator. its easy to be tainted by his performance at Tenn and all but it is what it is and there is no doubt he has some ability at this level. now if that ability is only arm strength and release then so be it - he will only be a preseason wonder. but if the mental part of the position - toughness, anticipation, evaluating defenses - come together - the jets have something cooking. he has got to get live, regular season action at some point - whather its garbage time in a blow out either way, or by injury. the jets are in no position to risk this guy not getting snaps, going to another team, and turning into a quality NFL starter.
I've always felt that way about him...... but he sure is fun to watch, but he may be better off taking the Charlie Ward route :wink:
How many games can we go without scoring more than one TD? We need to play the QB that execute the entire playback if that is Simms start him. Right now we are putting way to much pressure on our defense. We made Tom Brady look like Mark Sanchez and a shifty patriots secondary and we still could not score or win. If rex is really coaching for his job and if Simms is looking better I practice and Geno does not get this team into the end zone bet your ass Simms will get a shot.
