Let's go Jets No matter who is the QB. Leave all that Geno vs Mark crap for other threads. Let's go bring the pain to the Bucs!
You're better than this KJ. I've been defending Sanchez this entire summer and I'm 100% behind Geno Smith today. I'd be shocked if any of the Sanchez defenders aren't. By launching the first salvo, you've executed the sort of pettiness you seem to expect from Sanchez supporters. I'd expect that from a troll like Fenbar and Lehtohnen, not a respected veteran poster like you. Now that that's out of the way, go Jets! I believe this team is going to shock the football world, from Geno Smith to Rex Ryan, Marty Mornhinweg, and the various role players who will contribute to a better season than this team is currently being pegged for.
Of course we will have some bad losses but it may not be against those teams, there is a reason everybody picks us to be dead last in the NFL but we will still be better than most people think.
One of the posters earlier said he was feeling like a kid on Christmas morning. Well I am no different. J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS, JETS
This year I'm hoping we're the lucky bastards with the 3 month supply of venison in a crater in our front lawn.
Watching this game will be like waiting for a train wreck to happen. You don't want to watch, but you can't take your eyes off of it. I will be routing for Simms to get some game time, and that will only happen one of two ways. Smith sucks so bad they pull him or Smith gets hurt. I personally believe they would never pull Smith no matter how bad he sucks.... so that leaves him getting hurt. Everyone knows I never liked the idea of us drafting Smith and have been opposed since I first heard rumors we might. I do not want to endure three or four years of this kid, before we admit he is not the guy. I would rather rip this Band-Aid off from the start. Am I wishing for an injury, you bet yah. Career ending no, I do want us to be able to trade him is a year or two to regain something, be another twisted ankle would be great. Don't give me crap about not wishing for injuries, I wished Marino hurt for over a decade and hope Brady breaks a leg every game. Say what you want, but everyone of you would feel happy if you heard on the news Brady would be out for the year. I will not route for Smith just because he is a Jet now, especially when I feel we have a better option on the bench. And if Simms is not the answer I want to know now so we can draft a real QB next year. At least I'm honest and not like a sheep.
I am pumped football is back. Hoping for a win but not expecting it. As long as we play well and Geno avoids turnovers I will be happy enough.
I fully expect this to be a win. If we can't win at home against a team that's not very good and has no real tape on us we are going to suck. The team should be pumped, there should be enough plays to be made against Tampa to score some points and I expect the D to hold a mediocre Tampa O at home to a low score. The team should be sky high opening at home.
Non withstanding your opinion of Geno, which by the way, is nothing but your unsubstantiated opinion of his ability to develop into an NFL QB, rooting for any player to get injured is simply pathetic and sad buddy. So based on your perverse logic whats next? we bring in Simms and if he fails then what? Or perhaps if he plays poorly do you wish him an injury too so we can try someone else. The absolute best possible outcome for all of us is for Geno to succeed. Something tells me you could find a way to destroy the happiest of Jets performance with your outlook of life.
So, since you're rooting so hard for him to fail, on the crazy, wild chance that Geno Smith plays well today, are you just going to be the asshole that shows up in each thread telling everyone how he's still a sure-fire bust and that it's only a matter of time before he starts to suck, etc, etc..., Are you going to be that asshole?
We have all spent a lot time double-guessing, predicting, griping, and analyzing. Now, it's time for CHEERING! LETS GO JETS!!! J-E-T-S! JETS! JETS! JETS!
