I'm 41 and I am almost embarrassed about how excited I am for the start of my 33rd season following the Jets. I'm optimistic for a win today and for a decent "progress-making" season. This sentiment may not last long but I'm enjoying it while it lasts
I'm sorry but it feels so weird not having Sanchez start today I feel different and not in a good way
Did the Bucs have a good run D last season because their pass D was so bad teams chose to pass instead?
I'm 47 and am not in the least feeling embarrassed, I have feelings of excitement and all the other stuff that you go through 2 hours before KO, so pumped!! Yes it does, hooray.
Nothing to be embarrassed about. I'm also 41 and get this boyish jittery excitement every game day morning. Go Jets!
Having my kids make fun of me probably adds to my sense of embarrassment (we don't live in NY area so they are allowed to root for other teams ) But I did say "almost embarrassed" Will be glued to DirectTv and rooting hard for Geno in less than 90 minutes. Sweet.
I posted this in another thread but here you go: Looking at last year you can see how stats are really about what the team was. Jets #2 passing defense/ Bucs top rushing defense Stats tell you why: Jets: 495 rushing attempts /4.3 yards per carry /133 yards per game (31 attempts a game) 266/494 passing 200 yards per game (31 attempts per game) Bucs: 377 rushing attempts 3.5 yards per carry 82.5 yards per game (23 attempts per game) 410/627 passing 309 yards per game (39 attempts per game) So were they each that great in passing/rushing D or just so bad in the other phase teams didn't have to be balanced? Did they get in situations where one option was just a smarter move? Once teams see a weakness the abuse it til you can stop it.
