And Idzik said that they look forward to having Mark back on the active roster, so this could go either way.
The thread title is very deceptive and it's not properly named according to TGG standards. This is speculation and nothing more. Just because it "would be cleaner and easier" to put Sanchez on IR, doesn't mean they'll actually do it or that Jets brass is considering it.
He wont go on IR unless he truly needs surgery to repair his shoulder. What if Geno gets injured? What if Geno isn't ready? They need Mark/Quinn to be a bridge. Qinn's $ becomes full tomorrow so I would expect a roster move if Mark can come back this season. If not, its pretty telling that Sanchez will be IR'd
I cant believe we are going into the season with 4 QBs, and 5 WRs- one of whom is coming back from a massive injury.
This organization never does anything right. Jesus Christ I wish Woody would sell this fucking team to Mark Cuban!
We waste so much time obsessing over stories and ideas proliferated by the media that have no verifiable basis in reality. It's pathetic. Every time we fall into this trap, we are only further empowering a fundamentally dishonest organization (the collective news media), whose only clear goal is to sell you more of what it is selling.
Or it could be if Sanchez is progressing, they can axe Quinn before Sunday so his contract isn't guaranteed for the season....... the plot thickens
the guy is either healthy or he isnt. he either has a major injury or he doesnt. the fact that the team is carrying 4 qbs is absurd no matter how you cut it.
imagine what its like for teams like the colts and packers - QB position wrapped up for many years by 2 players. unreal. the jets will NEVER be as fortunate.
Calm down and read between the lines; something all of us need to do with the new regime. In the past, Rex would tell us what was going on, I found it very refreshing actually. Now we are going back to the Mangina lip service "its all about the process" shit. Brady Quinn gets released tomorrow, or before. This means Mark does not go on IR and the Jets roll the dice week one with Geno and Simms on the active roster. Week 2, Brady Quinn gets re-signed so he is not guaranteed full Salary this year. This leads me to believe that Mark's injury, while more serious than the organization is letting on, will still be available sometime this season.
They have not played one single down, one run and have not thrown a single pass and they have Geno dead and buried already. You have to love being a Jets Fan at this time of the year.
Yes. They don't really want to use a roster spot on Brady Quinn if they don't have to. This is one QB named Brady that Mark Sanchez actually is better than. I think they wanted BQ as a QB in case Sanchez had a setback with his shoulder, and if it seemed like he would need to be on IR then they would have Quinn as the #3. If Mark is going to be healthy by Week 4, there's no big need to keep Quinn on the roster for Week 1. They will release him tonight or before 4pm tomorrow and go into Week 1 with Smith and Simms as the healthy QBs, and Mark will be on the active roster but won't be activated for the game. They may then re-hire Quinn after the season starts, if there's a QB injury or if Mark has a setback. But they want to avoid having him on the roster tomorrow otherwise his entire ~$800k salary will become guaranteed for the whole season, even though they won't really need him once Mark recovers.
Mark's not going on the IR unless he's really injury wise out for the year. No way Woody"s going to pay him 8 mil to chill with his pals in SoCal. Or to pull his pants down (on camera) and show girls his butt (God almighty) I saw the play he got hit on again and he took a very hard shot right on the shoulder. Since coming to the Jets he's physically been resilient, I can only remember one game he didn't play in his previous 4 years due to injury: Kellen Clemens started that one. As far as him not geting a fair chance in training camp it's bs. No one told him to turnover the ball and screw up in the red zone. He did that on his own. If he had just played good football he'd have probably won the job. You can't blame the organization for tiring of his act. He's under the illusion that he's a good Qb. So he throws the ball recklessly thinking he's going to thread a needle and he can't do it. If he were smart enough to know his limitations he might not be in the position he's in right now. But no matter who the coaches are its same old same old for Mark Sanchez. If Geno implodes expect to see Mark on the field. Geno will not get the cushion and all the chances Mark got for 4 seasons. But will being benched and beaten out by a rookie change him. If he's around all I can see is worst QBR in the league and another 52 turnovers.
Haha, I think so How do you add a signature? I don't see it in the options anywhere when I click my profile..
