I've never heard of an NFL team with a top 10 defense and a quality coaching staff on both sides of the ball being the worst team in the NFL.
I just posted an article by Jeff Capellini on CBS. Go read and click the link to support a good read. Stick with this guy and TurnontheJets for analysis and everything will all be well again in Jet world.
Fuck all these negative stories and beat writers I'm going to the game Sunday! Jets 27 bucs 20....this reminds me of 2009 when everyone expected us to be terrible...I can't wait to prove the doubters wrong
Its really bad, I'm getting the feeling that certain members of the press now believe they are as much a party of the story as the actual team. The only clowns in town are the "journalists" turned tabloid writers. I'll tell you... I don't like Woody Johnson, but I'll give him a ton of credit for standing with Rex. He went with what he believed in, rather than what the popular opinion is. I believe the Rex and Marty tandem is going to produce a completely unexpected product on the field this year. Actually looking forward to it.
I don't need the media to tell me the team is going nowhere. We have an underwhelming QB, WR, and RB corps, with no play makers on offense. This is a passing league and we can't pass, we also don't have the means to run. This is going to rely heavily on the defense and my expectations are low. winning 6 games would exceed my expectations.
Don't you think we'll be able to pass more effectively than last season with a legit offensive coordinator? Haven't you seen how much more effective our offense has looked in the preseason? I know preseason numbers aren't always the most telling thing but last year we were at the bottom in nearly every offensive category. This year we're near the top in passing and total offense. Morningwood is the best OC this team has seen in over a decade. There's a good chance we field at least an average offense this year even if we're lacking talent on that side of the ball.
The offense could be slightly better with Sanchez out of the way. However, the AFC is strong this year and the rest of the AFC improved more than the Jets did. Like I said, I have 0 expectations. I would love to make the playoffs, but I don't see that happening.
This is where I have an issue w/ all the publications about the jets. People act like this team just isn't gonna be able to move the ball at ALL. I just don't see that as the case. While they don't have any proven playmakers that doesn't mean one of several young talented players on the roster could step up and become one. Additionally, we've seen an offense under Marty's watch that has thrown ball rather well in both practice & preseason games. Now those timeframes aren't always what they appear but to predict the same lifeless offense as last season just seems foolish & short sighted
Who says the AFC is strong this year? The AFC has been fairly mediocre the past two seasons, anything could happen. We've made improvements this year, to say everyone else has made more is silly. I don't care what anyone says... I have my own opinion and I truly feel that we are going to surprise a ton of people. I truly believe that Marty and David Lee are the best upgrades to the team this year and I think it shows week one. I'm excited to see this offense for a change, it's crazy but I am.
I watch a ton of NFL games. You can never overestimate how bad the league is overall. Sucking doesn't mean we aren't going to be competitive.
Cookie's are for pussies, not for beer drinking, pork eating, fat, pimple faced, tat assed football junkies.
there are so many moving parts to a teams W and L record in the current NFL. equally talented teams can be separated by 3-4 games in the W-L columns with just a few timely plays, turnovers, penalties, etc etc. for me the W-L record is kinda secondary cause i do not think that will matter come late in the season. Its more important to me how we arrive at that given record. is our defense getting off the field? is there any big play ability on offense? are any rookies/2nd years players making an impact? these are the things i'll be tuned in for. if we see the same shit from the last 2 years with a dreaded 3 and out offense regardless of the QB, poor run D/3rd down D, and no contribution from any rookies or 2nd year players than it will be a most frustrating campaign regardless of the record.
The Jets are going to be better than the media thinks. The defense is younger and faster, we have a legit OC for the first time in yrs. Geno is a football junkie, he has weeks to get all the snaps in practice and learn the playbook more. VS the bucs MM will tailor a game plan to his strengths. I think there will be a lot of screens and slants (geno can actually throw the screen pass and is more accurate) and quick reads. Hopefully the running game will at least be respectable and the defense needs to contain doug martin. If jets can avoid costly turnovers they will win on sunday!
