I'd like to see them take a look at Robert Meachem. He was pretty productive with the saints before going to the chargers last year.
What does that make Sanchez? The rich/poor man's _________ ? Yeah, wishing to see McElroy start over Sanchez is such a crime, isn't it. It's not like we wanted to anoint McElroy the future - what we wanted was to explore what we had on the roster other than the 'incumbent' turnover machine.
Wasn't just about everyone productive that played for New Orleans ... I'd pass on Meachem. If a team that is weak at a certain position, cuts a player of that position - it doesn't bode well ESPECIALLY if it wasn't special teams related position
I can't comment on a whole lot more in the thread but this I can tell you. Neither he nor Simms were given the opportunity to beat out anybody. I can GUARANTEE you that. There was no competition in camp. of that we can now be fairly certain.
Drew Brees I remember visiting the Saints forum a while back and they had dubbed him "Teach 'em Meachem". Turns out he's just a fast dude that can catch passes with an extremely accurate QB
I don't know why Meachem didn't do anything in his 1 year in San Diego but it's not like Phillip Rivers is some slouch. I think you're probably over simplifying things regardless of whether he could help here or not.
Rivers has been declining pretty fast last couple years. Not accurate at all, dumps it off to his RB's more than any other QB for a reason. His days as an upper tier QB were over a while ago. Sorry LTJF, I just don't see why you still think he's good.
Turnover machine like crazy! His offensive line has been really bad the last two years! had 22 turnovers last year by himself.
Apparently Tyler Wilson was released by the Raiders. We don't need a fifth QB but I thought it was noteworthy. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...yler-wilson-reportedly-cut-by-oakland-raiders
Looks that way to me. https://www.google.com/search?q=kah...urceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#q=kahlil+bell+released After all, he was the pass blocker that let LB through on Simms' safety play. His pass protection seemed very lacking.
Cimini reports that with no one claiming McElroy that he was expected to go on IR with he Jets but McErloy is instead negotiating a injury settlement with the Jets so he can join the Bengals practice squad while he recovers. Smart move for McElroy rather than spending a 2nd year on IR. To bad for Jets as they lose the QB that has been tutoring and training Geno all summer.
