if they have a terrible year Gud jus gives them a opportunity at watkins or lee 2 wrs who should b stars in the nfl either 1 of em will be a instant upgrade 4 the jets offense
My thoughts. He's barely had much time to show anything this preseason. Missing that 2nd game hurt in terms of him improving as the preseason progressed. Throwing him in just to throw him in would be a negative at this point especially when you consider the opening schedule. 2 games in 4 days, one on the road in a very hostile place to play going against a qb that can put points on the board easily is a nightmare start. 4 days to prepare for New England on the road is a tough task for good teams let alone a team going through struggles. Of course he'll get his opportunity this year but I rather him get more preperation so that he's ready. I've said it before, his ideal debut would be week 3 in my opinion.
Then again maybe the Jets open up with wins against TB and the depleted patsies and everybody has to readjust the sky is falling predictions. Don't be surprised if things aren't nearly as dire as some may believe.
If they win those games or even go 1-1 and Sanchez contributes and plays well then ride it out with him until he falls apart is how I see it. If there winning despite him then go with geno week 3.
bills qb situation lookin pretty good eh? at this point i think fitzpatrick would still be the best qb on the roster haha
sanchez still sucks, geno looked scared to me, HAPPY FEET MY ASS, looked like he was dancing out there. the QB who will take us to the promised land IS NOT ON THE TEAM YET...... 2014 murry, boyd, bridgewater. would be happy with anyone of these young men. go j-e-t-s.
This makes zero sense to me and seemingly suggests that you just don't like Sanchez. How in the world do the Jets lose more this season? How? Our team has only improved since last year, we haven't lost anyone that is crucial to this teams success. We've only added youth and a better scheme. Sanchez has a track record for giving up? That's news to me, I think he was overwhelmed a lot the past couple years, but to say he gave up is wrong. I'm not even a huge Sanchez supporter, I'm optimistic of course though. He has looked better than Geno, it's that simple. He has a better feel for this system, he has better production on the field, and he has experience. Sanchez looked a lot more comfortable and has looked a lot more comfortable in this system then any other offensive scheme that's been here thus far. So.. If he's playing good football, he looks comfortable, his team is playing a ton better for him all around him (WR and TE are getting open, OL is playing very well in protection), etc.. Which brings me to my next point... Do you or people like you ever stop and think about all the other factors involved with why we have sucked that past couple years? DO you ever think that maybe if Sanchez could get us to a couple AFC Championship games, that in theory he should be able to get us there again with a better team showing around him? The offensive talent the past two years has been fucking awful and to pin that on one guy is unfair. Very unfair, nobody would have had good seasons at QB for the NYJ's the past two seasons. You can say that's a lame argument because it's a hypothetical, but all you have to do is open yours eyes and you can see that was exactly what was to be expected with the talent level on this team the last two years. 2012 Preseason Offense (4 Games): Total Offense - 783yds Touchdowns - 1 2013 Preseason Offense (3 Games): Total Offense - 737yds Touchdowns - 6 I mean you can just kinda get a feel of what your team is going to look like sometimes and I can honestly say that if you watch the last two preseasons, you can see a massive difference in offenses. It's just not the same. It's not. To say this team will be worse than last year is crazy to me. I fully expect the defense to be a top 5 unit and I think that will be combined with a middle of the road offense ranked somewhere 10-15 best offense in the league. If you can get that type of production from those two units, then playoffs could even be a possibility. I don't know if that will happen but I would bet my house on the Jets winning more than 6 games this year.
This type of shit is another thing that annoys the fuck out of me.... Sanchez still sucks? He has looked very good all preseason except for a couple plays that were made into a bigger deal because of all the shit that has happened the past two years. Sanchez has looked good so far and those couple plays that happened is just part of the game. If it was anyone else in this league those plays would be an after thought a week later, no one would harp on them, but because it's Sanchez it's apparently the worst QB performance in the preseason thus far and he deserves to lose his job. The biggest issue I have with these type of posts is you can just tell what fans have no patience and think that ever evolving change is the solution to everything, when in fact that is exactly why this team has been so bad for so long. You have to have continuity within a franchise, so I'm glad Woody is starting to realize that. The reason I say this is because Geno is a fucking ROOKIE, he had a bad game. This is the type of shit that ROOKIES do, especially when learning an offense that is virtually brand new to the kid. It does not mean that he is a horrible QB now, that's just moronic. Nobody knows what we have in this kid, it's as simple as that. The book has not been written yet and to proclaim that our starting QB of the future is not on this roster right now is very premature. We don't know yet, let it play out a little before you start calling for Geno's head. ..but that's the NYJ fan base for ya.. ONE preseason game is all it takes to get shit on now a days, or has it always been that way, hrmmmm? It's sad. It's just annoying as fuck..
Do you honestly think Sanchez is just going to stop making ridiculous Sanchez mistakes in the regular season? Why would anyone believe that?
Great post!! the mentality of the fan base and probably why the jets will never win came out when the Jags had a couple drives on the Jets in preseason. Oh no the defense sucks then this week they are great again. You are also right in that Mark has a very good preseason but he gets zero slack even though it is a new offense for him also. For everyone declaring Geno a bust already and that they new it all along just needs to stop watching football and go be a fan of another sport because they obviously do not understand this one.
Start Sanchez. If he's good and we're winning games then stick with him. If he sucks and we're losing games then bench him and give Geno a shot. Simple. My bet, we start Sanchez (depending on his injury, obviously) and he has a sub .500 record by the bye. Geno takes over the first game after the bye. Why is this a good thing? Well, it shows we gave Sanchez another shot so all the Sanchez apologists can't be upset. It takes the pressure off of Geno since we're already assumed to be missing the playoffs so he either sucks and people just write it off as the offense in general sucking or he strings together a few wins and gets us in or at least gives hope that he can get us in next year. Gives us a look at him and if he is absolutely terrible they can draft/sign/trade for a QB for next year (as Sanchez would obviously be cut in this scenario) or if he's good then they know that he could be the guy next year. It's not the ideal scenario (ideal being we go 16-0 and win the Super Bowl setting franchise and NFL records all along the way) but it's probably the best that we can reasonably hope for.
What??? Dude that's like me saying Geno has looked good all preseason in the limited number of snaps he's been given by Rex except for those 3 INT's in the first half which is part of the game. That makes you sound like you're very partial to Sanchez and it doesn't make you sound like a neutral observer at all. Sanchez has not looked very good in the preseason. He's looked serviceable at best. There's a big difference. He threw an INT for a pick 6 in one of his first snaps this year which is awful. He also fumbled a snap which resulted in a turnover the other night against 3rd stringers which is unacceptable for a guy who wants to be a 5th year starting QB in the NFL. You can't consistently turn the ball over and be an effective starting QB in the NFL. Sanchez is the biggest turnover machine in the league the last 2 years. That can't be argued. If you want to be impartial then you need to do so on both sides of the fence. You can't seriously think that Sanchez is going to somehow change his stripes all of a sudden? Colin Kaepernick looked very good, actually amazing, on that TD drive last night going 6 for 6 and marching his team right down the field and making some sick throws. That's the definition of very good, not what Sanchez has done this preseason.
