They iced his shoulder like you would do for a pitcher after nine innings. Then they sent him in for x-rays. It didn't look good. He threw a bit on the sidelines and shook his head no.
i don't see the problem playing Sanchez in the 4th quarter. Sanchez is not Manning nor our QB of the future. Sanchez is a journeyman QB whoose job it is to play while the QB of the future gets ready. Sanchez will not be on the team next year. If he gets hurt its sad but there are tons of journeyman QBs in and out of the league that can play just as well. Sanchez should get used to playing in the 4th quarter of meaningless pre-season games. After this year its likely the only playing time he will ever see.
Jets Killed Sanchez more ways than one but tonight was the icing on the cake. Absolutely no business being out there. You want fair competition, fine, but fair wasnt present. Putting your clear number 1 in with scrubs late in the 4th in a 3rd preseason game was silly and there is no defending it. IF he scored a touchdown, what exactly would that have proved??? What were you expecting him to do after sitting on the bench all game then bringing him out randomly to play with Jone Doe? I thought Rex had his boys back, his boy Sanchez. I hope that shit wasn't his call.
It was tough to tell, obviously it wasn't a broken collarbone, or a severe dislocation, but it was his throwing shoulder so a subluxation, or sprain could last into the regular season.
My biggest concern was it was injured on his first hit, then maybe got significantly worse the second. When they showed him walking up to the line after his first hit, he was sort of grabbing at his pads on the shoulder area. I am also not a doctor, and have sadly fallen into "the worst is going to happen with my NYJ QB" syndrome, so all I can do is hope for good news tomorrow.
After watching Pennington get killed all those years. Those shoulder injuries. The depression that swooped over me was fucking immense. I felt like crying. Hahaha.
That's open to interpretation. To me it seemed like the doctors told him he isn't going back in, then Sanchez went and slammed his helmet down as if frustrated they wouldn't let him back in.
Sure I can be. I have rooted for the Jets for over 45 years since 1967. I am tired of waiting for them to get their act together.
Yeah maybe he shook his head no meaning he didn't feel anything. But with his pads off he was poking his rotator like he was trying to feel something in there. Could be a tear. It's all speculation until we find out the results.
Rex just said in the presser it was his call because he wanted to win the game. He called the incident unfortunate. You think he's covering for Idzik? Lol conspiracy theory.
There is no way Woody Johnson wants Sanchez to start game 1 after last season's stench of failure. Woody wanted Smith (Sanchez 2.0) drafted and his hand picked flunky Idzik accommodated. Rex is a sock puppet at this point and number 1 on the designated scapegoat list to take the fall. He deserves it but the real problem starts with Johnson. Fish rots from head down.
Sorry to disagree but in no way has Sanchez set himself up as a clear #1 this pre-season. Not in the slightest. Neither QB has separated themselves in the competition. Sanchez gained the advantage with Geno's performance tonight but it would have been backing in to the position at best. All Sanchez had to do was come in and not screw up. Personally your Sanchez bias is showing when you say that Sanchez was the clear #1 coming in to todays game. It's a competition, you come in when your told to come in and you perform, period. Also, your assuming that Sanchez came in cold. I don't remember reading anywhere officially that Sanchez wouldn't play in the 4th quarter, how do you know that wasn't the game plan all along? You don't. The fact is that against the 1st stringers this pre-season Sanchez has looked like crap.
