We just need to come to grips with this being a throwaway season if Muck starts. It sucks, but I think we are headed in the right direction. Geno may not be the guy. Let's hope some young O and D guys step up. Build towards the future. Believe in Idzik. Rex and Mark will be gone at years end. Hopefully Geno will take over with enough time to see if he might be the future.
Sickening...like watching a terrible QB wear a girls headband to bring more negative attention to himself
Yes of course Ive seen more than one of his games. I think he has a great arm, pocket presence, touch, accuracy and most of all maturity. With that said, Im not taking anything away from Geno, because Im sure as you'll find out Im one of his biggest supporters.
Its amazing how people just spout out nonsense! You watched him look flat out terrible....!!! What about the Baylor game when he had more TD's (8) then incompletions or the Texas game, in front on the largest crowd to see a game in the states history, where he threw 4 TD's, or against Oklahoma.... Yes they lost 5 straight but anyone who watched the games knew it was 90% the defenses fault.
Rex is biased towards Mark and that could be the end of him. It's like he's reluctantly playing Geno while hoping Mark succeeds.
Whoever told him that was a good look to go for, should be jailed, drawn and quartered. Perhaps even Keelhauled. File that under "really bad advice".
I think I see your point. But in hindsight I think they made their mind up already when they drafted Geno. Any scenario makes drafting another QB too redundant. They can do it but it would make them look stupid.
You mean like when the Panthers took Jimmy Clauson in the 2nd round one year and then Cam Newton the next?
The key here is that we have solidified the offensive line and have some semblance of a running game. Shonn Green went down on first contact and could not catch the ball to save his life. Additionally, our number one receiver last year was a raw rookie. My point is Geno can be successful in this offense but he may not have enough knowledge of the offensive scheme or playbook. And he has had limited time playing real time with his receivers.
Yes, I did. He had opportunities to show the NFL he could lead a team, put them on his back, and he failed. Some of the games the offense looked completely lost. You bring up the Oklahoma game, to me that was his best game. Even though WVU lost, Geno stepped up and looked great.
This I disagree with. Idzik's mantra has been "competition" almost to a fault. The drafting philosophy that coincides directly w/ that is to go "Best player available" at every opportunity. Not only does that leave the door open for a QB to be taken early in 2014..but it will almost be essential if Sanchez is indeed let go & Geno is still an unknown commodity. Afterall....competition will be needed at the most important position on the football field. Should Geno step up this season..he certainly has immense upside.I'd be willing to bet the Jets will still take a QB..but perhaps they wait till rounds 2 or 3 to address.
Ugh... Well this remains an issue w/ Hill. The good news is..we've seen him have good hands on several occasions. This seems like more of a concentration issue. Meanwhile his route running has vastly improved. He can still take the top off a defense & WILL be an X factor.
