Hmmmm, seems like a small few are whipping it out, but I understand the vitriol from some. This is your turf. Let me start by asking this: Will the addition of Pettine as DC be a huge difference in the Bills D? It couldn't be much worse than the last few years, and after watching how the D was under his tenure with the Jets, I wonder how much was Ryan and how much was Pettine. My guess is a surprise week one vs. NE, not necessarily a win for Buffalo, but TB will have a lot tougher time than in years past. There will be a little inconsistency for a few games, then who knows. My guess is the Bills will be improved on D, but have A LOT of ground to make up to be top 10. If it happens, it'll be next year at a minimum.
Pettine is still an unknown. This was Rex's D here no doubt about it. Who knows if he will make a big difference running his own show. Your D can be much worse than it was last season though - so you guys will probably be happy with him just for that. Not really concerned about losing him here in NY though.
EJ out there getting his feet wet Looking pretty good, going through his progressions but looks like they just want to build his confidence with a lot of dump offs. Impressed with the D so far. Aaron Williams will be a monster at safety. Still worried about our LB'S.
EJ Manuel hurt EJ Manuel had swelling in his knee this morning, was examined by Buffalo's medical staff and an MRI revealed that he's going to have to undergo a 'proceedure' (described as minor) and will miss the remainder of the pre-season. Reserve WR Kevin Elliot (ACL) out for the year.
Its funny how when Jets players play well in the preseason, a bright future is ahead, but when Buffalo players play well, its only because it is against 2nd stringers. How cute.
And now Marone has said EJ will miss the rest of the preseason with a minor knee injury. Hopefully it's because he has already been named starter opening week and we are being cautionary.
There is no way EJ is starting against New England. Even if he's healthy, they're not going to start a rookie who missed half the preseason, had limited reps, and hasn't had live action in 3 weeks. Kevin Kolb will start.
