Bucs GM Mark Dominik told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio the club is considering playing Darrelle Revis (knee) in their third preseason game. Any doubt of Revis being ready for Week 1 is gone now. Hopefully Sanchez or Smith can adjust. I honestly would not test if Revis is 100% or not. I would take his word for it and throw elsewhere.
Good news! I say he has to start on Saturday now. Give him a chance to show what he can do. Jacksonville may be a bad team, but their defense is pretty good, so it still will be a good challenge for Geno.
Hill is going to drop some passes. Every WR does. The key question is whether he's going to drop a lot of passes or just his share. The second question is whether he's going to extend his string of big plays in camp into the regular season. The guy works hard and he's motivated to be very good. Let's see if he can follow through on that. I was down on him last year but I'm cautiously optimistic this year. Dedric Ward at 6'3" 215 would have been a great weapon.
Who Cares. Id test him for 60 minutes. They should force Revis to have to cover Stonehands, who shoukd just run 9 routes all day, every snap, it only takes one. Hill needs one big catch, Revis has to be perfect. In a 3 wide set, you will then have Kerley on a safety or a LB underneath, and Edwards, running shorter posessin routs. If Revis covers someone not named Hill, Hill will have a career day, and a couple drops.

Chrebet. Or Kerley at that size, would be Megatron. Personally, I think Kerley in the slot, Edwards at the X, and Hill at the Z, is a nice combination. Especially at week one. First read, taking the top off rhe defense. Otherwise rotate left and locate Kerley, and Edwards at different depths, making the second read a question of angle and velocity. That still leaves the TE, and the back in the flat. (thats basically Weiss whole playbook, that Byz posted)
Knowing Revis, the Jets' luck, and either a turnover prone Sanchez or first career start Geno, just does not seem like a smart idea to throw Revis' way. I guess the thought of Revis getting a Pick-6 vs. the Jets just makes me sick to my stomach. That is the last thing I want to see.
Brian Costello @BrianCoz 3m Geno just ran around the end. Moving much better today #NYJ Dennis Waszak Jr. @DWAZ73 3m Geno Smith just scrambled and looked pretty good on that ankle. If it's bothering him, it's not too bad right now. #Jets
Seth Walder @SethWalderNYDN 2m Nice TD to Kerley from Sanchez in first play vs starting defense. 8 yard slant. #nyj Eric Allen @eallenjets 2m Sanchez again with the 1s today in team. Throws a dart to Kerley for a score from the 8.
It really is nice to see Sanchez step up to the challenge of a QB battle with Geno. Many thought he would just fold or fail due to the pressure. I thought it would make him better and it has.
