First off. Only a flaming idiot, oops check that, only a pathetic brainless moron would write an article like that after one preseason game. No professional writer with any talent, not even the lowest of the NFL network analysts would be stupid enough to proclaim with conviction such an irrelevant set of accusations.

How convenient it is for him to use " after the fact" occurrences, mostly injury related or personal off the field events, totally irrelevant to field performance mind you, to put forth a case that has as much substance an credibility as his résumé. Less than zero.

But of course he knew that Garrard was injured to the point of no return, and Goodson had a substance abuse problem, and Ivory was not going to be a producer all year (really now) and that they were plenty of solid back up QBs that would have fit our non existing budget. Can some one point out were and how did he write about this before now.

Idzick has more class, knowledge, professionalism and smarts in one of his pubic hairs that Metha has in his whole body. If Metha is a representation of good journalism for NY, then his boss and editor, not Idzick, is the one to definitely blame for providing every Jet fan with such journalistic trash.

Why didn't Manish put in his article that the Jets because of their careful potential bargain bids, may get 3 compensation picks in the 2014 NFL Draft? I thought its his job to do some research?

No mention of Idzik's job at the draft?

No because that would go against his argument so it was totally unnecessary to mention.

Too early to tell, but there is a point that:

    A. The vet QB Idzik brought in didn't make it to training camp.
    B. The big RB signing Idzik made hasn't made it to training camp.
    C. The big RB trade acquisition hasn't practiced with the team in training camp yet.

This article is way too early, and the type of trash journalism we all hate, but it's too early to know for sure. And it's clear we're building for 2014 and beyond.

Dude, mthe premise of the article is flawed, because it PRESUMES the Jets would hace Smith fall into nis lap.

I SAID, Garrard would be injured before opening day.

This team os not irrelavant. This is potentially, with the Pats offensive woes, the division winner.

But it takes balls to write that.

Playing into the Sanchez, and Jets bashing sells papers.

The reason Garrard was brought in, (unless you think Idzik didnt know his Injury history) was to white wash Sanchez. Then Geno fell into his lap.

His mistake was doubling down, on the whole 'competition' mantra.

Sanchez, missed a total of one game in 4 years due to injury, gararrd hasnt seen a regular season snap in two years.

    Really?

I guess none of you guys read Tom Sawyer.

That's right: anyone that writes or says anything that could be construed as the least bit negative IS A TOTAL A-HOLE! Can't they see how awesome this team and organization is? Yea, we haven't won in over two generations, and have no hope of winning in the near future, but THE JETS ARE GREAT! THE COACHING STAFF AND PERSONNAL PEOPLE ARE GREAT! THE OWNER IS GREAT! You stinky negative sportswriters, how dare you say otherwise! Look at our great legacy!

I'm thinking that's the truth of it. Mehta has decided to sell to Jets haters instead of Jets fans. That's a choice many writers over the years have settled on and its part of the reason that a good sports writer stands out when he decides to just report what's going on.

You can report on negative developments effecting the Jets without getting a knife out and lunging at the team.

The fact that there is already 50 plus posts on this, despite it clearly being garbage, means Mehta is already winning.

Can you guys please post the text from these articles so we don't have to give Womanish Mehta unnecessary website hits? No need to even pay attention to that clown and his smear campaign against the Jets. The NY Post specifically hired him for that purpose and his claim to fame was anonymous sources. What a joke. The less support on his article the better. I am not clicking that link.

INT bad with a 4th string running back that failed to clear out and Sanchez making a stupid throw.

New offense looked much better than the crap from last year, receiving depth is much batter that anyone thought, and Sanchez looks very good on that TD drive.

Some of you guys are truly dilusional, this article was spot on and half the forum is already becoming Idzik apologists, IdzIks debut year is looking Luke warm, and as far as having patience it's been almost 50 fucking years of "having patience" gimme a break , but hey look on the bright side atleast we Traded Revis for a mediocre DT

Matt Hasselbeck signed with the Colts for 2 years and $7.25M. He has a $3.5M cap number this season. If he wound up starting for the Jets this year he likely would have cost them their best compensation pick next year, either a tweener between 3rd and 4th or 4th and 5th, likely the former since between Dustin Keller and LaRon Landry somebody is going to have a decent year.

The Jets didn't have the cap space to sign him and they certainly didn't want to give up a mid-rounds pick to sign him in what effectively would have been a pretty silly trade for a late 30's QB in a rebuilding year.

Garrard didn't work out. It happens. The Jets gave up $100K to bring him in. That's all. No picks and minimal cap space.

Weren't there rumors a few weeks ago that Womanish was leaving the Jets beat? Maybe this is his last story, and he wants to go out in a blaze of glory.
