So Mark should start because we have no talent

    That's fucking dumb

We have talent and Geno is our best QB

    Let him play

No fucking dumb would be throwing a rookie out there prematurely. Especially when he has nothing to work with.

This decision should be about what is best for the future of the franchise. It's not just about this season.

Please tell me about this talent you speak of.

Well, IF Holmes could play by like week 6 and IF Ivory can stay healthy and IF Winslow's knee doesn't shatter...

Stop being a homer. We have more talent than last year and certainly some potential, but we are in the bottom half of the league when it comes to offensive talent.

Good QB's elevate the play of those around them... Throw his ass into the fire and lets see what he's got.

"Nothing to work with" seems like a little bit of a stretch... Stephen Hill is playing really well this summer, Kerley is an above average slot guy, Ivory who I think will be back for Week 1 will be a beast if he can stay healthy and Braylon will be dependable for us. We aren't as bad offensively as everyone makes us out to be.

    No. He isnt.

    And its really that simple.

Geno is new, and Intriguing, but Sanchez is a playoff proven QB, with one losing season, not a rookie learning to play under center.

So your whole premise on our talent is that we have a good slot guy, a project at WR and a RB that can hopefully stay on the field.

You're proving my point right there.

No mention of any true threat or playmaker at WR.

You didn't even bring up our tight end's name because he's garbage.

So tell us Skip, did Manning merely Validate all of those first rounders the Colts installed around him?

Tell me...how far did Phillip Rivers get with Gates,LT,Jackson, etc...

I can't wait till Friday when Sanchez throws 3 picks and Geno throws 4 TD's, and Hobbes is over here arguing why Sanchez gives us the best chance to win.

Disagree. This team has been much better since Parcells took over. His position as HC has elevated the team and Johnson is doing a good job keeping the Jets relevant. While i would rather be a perennial PO appearance team - even 1 and done - what we have with the Jets since '97 is still better than what was here '74-'96.

    +1

So you're comparing Sanchez to Manning

He's not Peyton, Eli or Archie hell he's not Cooper

You want to start a guy with these career numbers

    Pass attempts 1,867
    Pass completions 1,028
    Percentage 55.1
    TD–INT 68–69
    Passing Yards 12,092
    Passer rating 71.7

I can say one thing his numbers elevate in the playoffs which is great but he has to get us there and since 2010 he's been shit

And everyone has gotten the blame so far or been axed

    "Playoff proven"... Worst fucking argument.

Sanchez is so playoff proven that he is being either outplayed by a rookie or is at least even while he's in his fifth year. I'm pretty sure today is the only day of camp so far that Mark has notably played better. Geno is more talented. Geno is a leader. Geno doesn't turn the ball over as much as Mark.

Turnovers win and lose games. It's that simple. Mark has never proven he can consistently lessen his turnovers.

Then let him go out there and make mistakes so we can see what he needs to work on, let him grow on the field and add pieces year by year he needs

What good will watching Sanchez do

Who's saying Geno isn't ready? I'm not sure where this notion that every time you start a rookie QB, it ruins him... Other than Sanchez, who only started 14 (?) games in college, recent history proves otherwise.

With proper coaching and a healthy squad, there's no reason not to start Geno if he proves he can play. And from what we are hearing, he's done pretty well.

Haha probably not.. But I really think Stephen Hill has corrected his drop problem and is going to be a Top 15 WR in the league this year.. If that happens, our offensive production will go up leaps and bounds.. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Jets offense finish overall in the Top 15 in terms of YPG.

If Geno is considered ready by the coaches he will be starting
