95% of the stadium may be USA fans. he is saying there is a specific section carved out that only USA fans can sit in. that has nothing to do with how the demographics of the rest of the stadium fill up, and thus some sort of indication of a lack of interest of USA fans. I am not sure if you are honestly missing that obvious point or deliberately creating the strawman you are arguing.
how would I know that? it's not like that at other events. If the place is expected to be full of Americans(in the middle of the US it should be) then what is the point in bringing it up?
Well, obviously NASCAR and MLB are bigger in the US than soccer (that may not last long in NASCAR's case), but I thought we were discussing growth. No one is saying soccer is bigger than MLB right now.
That is growth. They need to up the number of DPs to 5. I can't wait till NYCFC gets here and we essentially get to see their development players coupled with some big starts. Dat Arab money.
Crushing blows to Spurs this last week.... Bale and Dempsey ouch. Kind of bummed that Dempsey isn't staying in the BPL. He's too good a player for MLS.
Chelsea's Kalou says Drogba will head to MLS after he is done with Galatasaray this year. I hope Red Bulls grab him.
I'm on my way this afternoon to see Chelski, Milan, Inter and Valencia at Jetlife. 2nd time in a year I'll be seeing Valencia, I saw them lose to Barca in Barcelona last September.
I wish, I thought I had a hookup and that didn't work. Buying my ticket at the window. I'll be rocking my Ivory Coast Jersey though... I'm impartial that way. I can still root against Chelski.
didn't he used to play in MLS? we hear about these "power moves" every few years yet nothing ever really happens b/c of it.
Americans best player and captain of the national team comes home in the prime of his career to the MLS for the highest contract in league history. Figure it out.
No, he was a good player. Going to England and scoring 25 goals in a season made him a star and one of the best players on the planet.
ok, I'm learning. I want to know all about this sport so I can discuss intelligently when it takes over the US in a few years:grin:
