Should this upset me? I feel the untapped talent is just waiting to show its face on the field. I think if we have all RB's healthy and Hill and Braylon and Kerley are in top form. We will be okay.

    Yeah, that's the start.

If the Jets are doing well offensively he may be out until the bye or after. There's no reason to rush him back and risk a reinjury for him or the Jets in that circumstance.

If the offense is struggling there will be a lot of pressure to get him back on the field as soon as possible and it'll be interesting to see what happens in that situation.

I could see the Jets having to make a decision on trading for a vet WR sometime before the bye if the defense is holding up its end of the bargain and the offense is struggling. Acquiring a guy to fit into Marty M's WCO will be easier than trying to meld them into the Mutant was in 2009.

Imagine how this offense would look if Hill steps up, along with Kerley, Braylon and Winslow and then you throw in Holmes. That's not shabby at all. But if the offense is playing well, and if he's ready to go by week 5 they should let him play but let him get one or two reps to ease him back into the game.

I figured he was out for the season so out for four games doesn't sound too bad.

Fans should treat Holmes like they treat Sanchez. They don't though. He is the real joke.

^I do my best to acknowledge his many shortcomings. When it come to being a Champion Holmes is not. Take a play off, call a teammate out, throw the football to the other team; it's tone time baby!

I don't think he's playing another game. Just my opinion.

Good chance he misses the entire season.

We all know there is zero chance he is stepping foot on that field before he's 110%. He's as selfish as they come to begin with, let alone when his health is on the line.

More anonymous sources crap. I know it could very well happen, but this is hardly confirmed. I haven't seen it from a ESPN or NFL.COM or any other "legit" new outlet yet, so I have doubts if this is true. I wonder why so many folks thinks missing the first 4 games automatically means missing the whole season. Did I miss something?

I guess this means Hill & Kerley need to step up again, and Hill has looked good in TC thus far.

Actually, I really do not feel he sees the field this year and I would be mildly shocked if he ever sees the field again in a NY Jet uniform. End o' story.

We can only hope, but I for one do not want to see him in Green/White again.

To me, Homes has always given off the notion that he plays for contracts and not for wins. He sees football as an opportunity to make money, and seeing as how he's already won a SB, he could care less about the Win/Loss column.

Dead on. He could careless about where he's playing or for what so long as someone is signing his checks.

Everybody in the NFL is playing for contracts, and with the way the league is, everybody needs to get as much as they can, because teams are known to drop players when they have no use for them anymore. To single out Holmes like he's any different than any other player is ridiculous.

I wasn't singling Holmes out, he's surely not alone in the category of players that value more money than they do wins. And of course making millions of dollars is one of the perks of playing the game at a high level, but how can you say there aren't players that would trade some of those big dollars for lets say.. a Super Bowl ring? Winning matters a lot to these guys. Ask Dan Marino what he thinks about this.

If by okay you mean okay to once again have a second-rate offense….

I haven't been a nay-sayer, but this news sucks because it tells me it'll probably be more than four games and we really can't count on the real Holmes anytime soon, perhaps not at all this season. I'm disappointed we didn't sign Collie last week.
