I feel like it's a curse with this team...I have bought 3 Jets jerseys of current players before I bought myself a vintage 1960's Namath jersey. -I bought Revis, Sanchez, Favre...All now useless, and gone so fast. In the case of Sanchez, I can't even wear that with pride anymore. Obviously there are some guys who have been real mainstays with the team like Mangold, D'Brick, Harris...But everyone else is pretty much a money waster. Considering how some of the real jerseys go for over $150 bucks have you at all changed your purchasing habits when it comes to Jets jerseys? I am sticking with former Jets from now on...Next jersey I will probably get is a Curtis Martin unless Geno Smith takes this team to a Super Bowl lol

I've got a Shonn Greene jersey and a Revis jersey I got for free so no, I don't really spend money but there are a few options... A lot of options in my mind at least... Kerley, Wilkerson, Coples, Cromartie (maybe), Mangold, Brick, Milliner, Maybe Hill if he steps up and proves worthy of a roster spot.
Same here. I had gotten Favre (big mistake, was a gift) and last winter I got Revis. I can never wear the Favre, but I'll have to get some use out of the Revis I guess. From now on I am going to get former Jets that meant something to this team, and will only get a current player if they get signed very long term, do something special on the team, or of course win a Superbowl with this team. No longer will I chance it with a player I really like, who is really good, just for them to not re-sign, get traded, regress, etc...
You mean YOU HOPE he doesn't go anywhere. The perception is a young stud plays great and is with us for a long time...That is what I thought Revis was going to be
I haven't bought a jersey since Pennington. Wanted a Sanchez one, but I wasn't fully confident he would be our franchise QB. I really wanted a Braylon Edwards jersey after 2010, but no Tanny decided to pay for Holmes instead.
To be fair Revis did play with us for a "long" time in the football world and there were a few million things that went into him being shipped out. Mo's entire contract is less then what Revis wanted for 1 year of his rookie deal.
Everyone thought Revis would be a Jet for life. It didn't work that way. I'll wait until the Jets have a stud QB before I commit to another jersey. Any other position always has risks. Every sport is like this though. Players are here today, gone tomorrow. Not many guys are on a team for their whole career anymore.
Never bought a jersey in my life, but if I did, I;d probably buy one that doesn't ever go out of style, like a Namath or some other jet who I liked real well.... Curtis Martin or Wayne Chrebet... that kind of thing. There's nothing worse than seeing some schmuck walking around with a Ty Law or Brett Favre or some other such ridiculous character who was here and gone in a flash. Mangold would probably be one worth wearing for a very long time and never go out of style.
Just bought an authentic Curtis Martin Hall of Fame Jersey! I'm 25 so I wanted a player of my generation thats why i didnt go with namath...its the last jets jersey I ever buy unless of course we ever win the SB lol.... i had pennington, moss, vilma, cotchery, and at last revis.... i have a sanchez one too but lets be serious, it has no value and its embarassing to wear
I must suck...the last Jersey(s) I bought and still keep are Martin and Chrebet. I ALMOST pulled the trigger on a Sanchez one but am glad I didn't. I have to agree with some above...I think my next purchase will be a Wilkerson one. But, for the most part I don't anymore...they just do not stick around long enough to warrant the bucks.
I bought a Revis Nike Elite jersey, than he went down for the year, and ultimately never played another down again for the Jets. Good thing it was only 20 bucks. Knock offs breh.
I don't buy jerseys anymore. The last one I bought was a Curtis Martin one on a big sale for $28 or so. Then, I got a custom made one that says "GANG GREEN" on the back. No plans to buy anymore jerseys... P.S. Ok, I am lying... I got a Mangold jersey for my toddler daughter
I have a Green #23 home jersey that I plan to wear on my fishing trips to Belmar. Other than that, I only do Polos. No more jerseys.
