Ivory is going to be on the bike for the foreseeable future. He needs to rest the hammy and there's no reason to push it this early in camp. Don't be surprised if you don't see him until week 3 pre-season game. That's just more work and opportunity for Powell, McKnight, Griffin and Spann.
I hope Powell uses this as an opportunity to show the coaching staff that he can be more than a 3rd down back.

I'll be okay with that as long as he gets some pre-season action. More important is going to be his health in the regular season. So far I'm not confident that he'll be able to stay healthy in the regular season but hopefully this is just a blip and he'll be good to go shortly.

What is Mike doing back with the Jets? I thought his retirement was permanent this time? Not that I object. I still think he's one of the best ST coaches anywhere, despite the breakdown toward the end. Obviosly somebody (Idzik?) thought enough of him to bring him back for an encore. It's like chicken soup, it can't hurt.
My guess is that he probably realized how much he missed it and showed up. No one was going to tell him to stay home. Maybe he'll be consulting in some capacity this year?
