when Sanchez had comparable talent to the top QBs(not as good but closer than he has) he helped his team win 4 playoff games. I think only 2 QBs have more playoff wins since 2009. With talent he has shown he can win, w/o it he hasn't shown he can win. He's not Tom Brady, never was and never was going to be, he's not a guy who can tale average talent and win but there is only 1 Tom Brady in this league.
Pretty funny. Junc is always chastising people for not being able to read his jibberish. Today he actually wrote... "reading isn't one of your strengths, huh?" It's like the pot calling the kettle stupid.
Purely the mechanics of the release. From when the qb decides where to throw to when it leaves his fingers tips. Geno looks a little more "methodical"...not necessarily laggard, but more measured. I'm not saying it's good or bad...just saying. I'd love to see a side by side video of both of them going through identical plays...from the snap to the catch.
No, I dont agree. That was how many I had immediately, without checking rosters. There were two others that also started in Arizona, KC, I missed Rivers, and Romo as well. And, Sanchez, was working with Sparano,Gates,Gilyard,Rueland. And so on. If you said, given the same cast of characters, (players, and OC) there are at least 5-6 more.on that list. However, that having been said...of you think the list is accurate, that starts Sanchez as the 2nd best QB in the division, behind Brady.
Well exactly what other QB would you take over the #9 rated Mark Sanchez, Testaverde? Don't tell me Eli Manning
where did I misread something? switch Eli and mark and NYG still has 2 SBs and NYJ still have 2 title game losses. The difference in getting to SBs for NYG was their D stepped up, ours did not.
I disagree, i think Genos release makes Mark look slow. However, I am curious to see, if it remains so, after he settles in a bit. He's young, and Hungry so there is going to be a bit of oomph, in everything he does. One of Sanchez problems imo, is that he tries to hard to throw a catchable ball, instead of drilling. Geno, seems to just want the Receivers to do their job, without trying to make it easier on them. He wants to get it in there.
what no Flacco, Kapernick, or Rothlisburger? those guys have just as much playoff success as Mark if not more. (Kap, made it to the SB in his first try) Shaub, Freeman, Locker are a few i wouldn't take over Sanchez. In fact given the running games those guys have I'd look out for them to give him a go if he doesn't pan out here. He can operate well if he has a good running game and doesn't have to have things relied on him too much, Sanchez is kind of a premium JAG in a way. Dalton,Ponder,Bradford are questionable members who got their own weapons this year so we'll see. oakland, Philly, buffalo, and jacksonville are in unenviable circumstances so I won't even question any of them. the rest... I think I would take over Sanchez any day if given a choice. (unless theres somebody obvious I'm missing)
Did I not include Ben? if I missed him he should be on that list. Not Flacco or kaepernick though. I am not sold on keep and while Flacco was great last postseason and really good the one before he didn't do much the previous years. He's been on loaded teams since day 1. Again, this is under the premise that talent is equal.
this i agree with, all though i'll say thats a product of insecurity with his own playmaking. he often hesitates or does... something to telegraph his throws and it just makes him look shaky out there. one pump fake too many, one overly committed look, just something. Genos throws look faster in general than Marks from what i've seen. no telling if he's telegraphing too much or what, but they seem so fast and he seems secure enough to deliver that it rarely doesn't matter. of course thats a compilation of observations from his WV days and some camp clips.
You may be right. I haven't seen enough of Smith...or Sanchez (since he's working on the two-hands thing) Sanchez does(or did) have a "loopy" release..where he drops the ball down and low before he whips it away.
maybe you did put ben and i was just expecting his long ass last name so i didn't see it. I'm actually shocked you wouldn't want flacco. he's been to the payoffs every year of his career and winning 9 out of 13 several of which were on the road. sure he couldn't bring it home 4/5 times, but hell not everybody can every time and he seemed to be taking advantage of his weapons and a good defense just fine. He's like sanchez, but a champion, he's what Mark was meant to be (minus some offensive support the last few years)
I like Flacco but I think Flacco is Mark w/ better weapons and a better D. If Bal got mark's playoff production anywhere from '08-'11 they would have made Super Bowls. Right now there's no debate, Flacco, Eli, etc... are better but again I'm talking all things being equal. When mark had talent close to those guys he helped his team to the doorstep of 2 SBs.
Trent Dilfer has a Super Bowl Ring and the Ravens Defense took him there. I think the same thing applys to Sanchez and his playoff wins. That is a fuzzy stat at best. If he takes the credit for them winning he takes the credit for the last two years as well. The team carried him in those playoff wins and he did not have enough talent the last two years. It goes both ways. I think he is as the bottom of the list of starting QB's in the league. There is nothing that can save him now because teams have figured out his decision making is horrible and he has happy feet. They will blitz him into mistakes from the opening snap of every game.
