but yeah, Geno's contract obligations are because he's underperforming and lazy ;)

I would agree that if we're in a playoff spot with Sanchez that he stays in. If by the bye week we're at or below .500 (which isn't exactly being eliminated but could be an uphill battle) then I think Geno comes in.

If we're borderline on the side of missing and Geno gets us in it looks great and if he misses it will be chalked up as "well the entire team sucked anyways, it can't be expected for a rookie to bring a sub .500 team into the playoffs."

What is the coach supposed to say. He likes Geno or the Jets would not have drafted him. The only way this becomes a true competition for week 1 if Geno steps way-up and Mark struggles.

Good to hear Geno is learning quick he might need to.

The footwork problems is why he won't or should not start. Geno needs time to perfect his footwork so when he does play his mechanics are sound and comes in at a high level. Lets not ruin another QB.

I wrote up a long post predicting this exact response from Hobbes but I never hit send. How quickly you forget the coaches were saying he wasn't ready just a few weeks ago. Now that they have something positive to say it's just them being politically correct.

Obviously the real competition starts on Friday. But as soon as Geno is ready, and it sounds like he's getting closer, Sanchez is going to be riding the pine. That is of course barring the miracle that Morningwood magically revives his career which is possible, but highly unlikely.

What? Lee said he was not ready and from what I have seen had not changed his position. Guess what Marty just said he is not ready but he is improving fast. That is a good thing but that also means he is not ready. Not ready mechanically means he has spend more time mechanically which takes away from the finer points of learning an offense.

There is not need to rush him unless he takes that big step Marty is talking about and then outperforms Sanchez. This is very unlikely to happen if it does all the power to Geno.

Marty said what any coordinator would say for a player they liked. If he said nothing then we should have been really worried about Geno.

Unlike you Sanchez bashers I don't hate Geno I want to see Geno succeed and putting him in before he is ready is a recipe for failure.

    I know 1 thing

Idzik needs to get him some weapons

Luck had Fleener, Allen, Hilton, DHB and Bradshaw

Kaepernick has Gore, Davis, Crabtree, Jenkins, Patton, Boldin, James, Hunter and next year Lattimore

Griffin has Morris, Garçon and Davis

Wilson has Harvin, Lynch, Miller, McCoy, Rice, Tate, Harper, Wilson and Michael

If we want Geno to get in that class we need 2 WR to add to Hill and Kerley, 2 TEs and another dynamic RB to add to Ivory and Goodson

What I do like is our O-Line and D-Line seem set so that helps both sides of the ball

Did I ever say he was ready? Did I ever say we should put him in before he is?

All I ever said was that the moment he IS ready, he will start. Because Sanchez is terrible and it doesn't take much to surpass him.

Morningwood spoke glowingly of his progress. If he hadn't made much progress that would be a pretty retarded thing to do from a motivational perspective. He could have simply said Geno needs work.

Look out Sanchez lovers, Geno is progressing quickly. It's not a matter of IF, but when and the Sanchez lovers should be terrified. Sanchez will be on the bench this year. Book it.

With like 11-12 picks next year, and around 50 million in cap space. You can expect offensive weapons to finally be added next year.

well jeti, your offensive weapons are off for this year. the colts got DHB this year, fred davis barely played a snap last year, AJ jenkins didnt play a single down last year, and wilson got harvin this year. all those rookies performed with less offensive power than you think with the exception of kaepernick. wilson has shitty receivers just like the jets, he just had a good running game.

No QB was going to have success w/ what we had last year (on field talent, and coaching on the sidelines).

Decision making is impacted by not trusting your players that they are running the right routes, are going to be where they are supposed to be, are picking up the blitzing defenders and are going to catch the ball when it's thrown to you. Sanchez had a bad year, but he had dog shit all around him. The fact that so many people cannot comprehend this is baffling to me. Do you know that when Holmes made those great catch and run plays in the 2010 season, Sanchez was hitting him on quick timing passes from within the pocket? The Braylon TD pass in the NE playoff game? A timing pass from w/in the pocket. Yeah, he can get it done w/in the pocket.

We've needed weapons on offense for 13 years now. When we finally got some we made it to 2 AFCCG's

Looks like Murrell just got home from work and is feeling fine. I always enjoy your enthusiasm, my man. Even though I have given you reason to think otherwise.
