After the Brick restructure, they had the money. They know the issue was coaching, and lack of explosiveness out of the backfield. They could have signed a FA QB, for just a little more than they spent on Ivory and Godson. RougHly 3 per to Ivory, and 2 per to Goodson. Matt Flynn had 2 years at 11 mil on his contract. Jets could have afforded it, and gone with Powell, and McKnight. Its clear, the Front Office was not hot for a QB, till they got a lotto type value pick,
What world do you live in? When exactly has Sanchez proven he can perform on a consistent basis with good weapons and protection? He has never had a good statistical year in his life. The only time he ever performed well was when the team catered to its top 5 defense and made sure Sanchez didn't lose the game rather than win it. You talking like Sanchez is in the same league as anyone not Brees, Brady and Manning? This guy isn't NFL starter material plane and simple.
Actually. Brady is the perfect example of what you are saying. They make him what he is. Its why he gives the hometown dscount. That offense is perfectly tailored to what he can do, and avoids what he cant do. Which is why Gronk, and Hernandez perfectly complemented Welker. Write it down now. Brady comes back down to earth this year, and finishes bottom half if Amendola misses 8 games or more. And Imo, Geno would like just like Matt Cassell if the pats had drafted him, in that system. And FWIW i almost agree with your assesment of Geno...today...3 years on the bench and some humility, if Morningwood is successful with Sanchez...Geno could be Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers had the benefit of getting a firm handle on the mesh between his talent and the offense.
Tom Brady led NE to a title game with reche Caldwell and Jabar Gaffney as his top 2 weapons. he will succeed if you and I were his starting WRs. The New England Patriots didn't make Tom Brady, Tom Brady made the New England Patriots.
Hobbes, go back to your cartoon avatar, because that is exactly what you have become. The funny pages. Something giggled at and dismissed.
I'm not taking any credit away from him at all. I recognize that he's had his clutch moments but when we needed he came up small as well. Kerley is a proven NFL receiver. Everybody else is a question mark for various reasons. Holmes might not be the same and his injury is worse than originally anticipated. Hill is raw and is coming off an injury. Then after that we have a rag tag group of unknowns.
Im sorry, but who the f*ck are you to tell me to support the team? I support this team. As much as anyone. I want whats best for it. If that meant Sanchez turns into a franchise QB, Im all for it. The problem is, I dont have my head up my ass and its not hard to see that the likelihood of Sanchez ever being more than a game manager is about the same as Shonn Greene rushing for 2000 yards. And 1 play? Please. Try a year and a half buddy. Thats the amount of time that Sanchez has performed as the worst QB in the NFL (or at least damn close to it). His time before that wasnt great either, he just had a great team around him that led him to success. He did not lead the team to success.
Just shut up, son. You know nothing. Just keep on riding that rookie's dick for all you care. Who said Sanchez could perform on a consistent basis? I know I didn't. So, answer me. Who said Sanchez could perform ON A CONSISTENT BASIS? Who? And before you forget, Sanchez playing complimentary offense with the defense dominating the other side of the ball was THE formula Rex had in mind. When Ryan realized that his formula could not put the team over the hump, the wheels came off. Just what the fuck is with these morons these days?
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it implied that Sanchez can be good if he had a great OC and good weapons? Doesn't that then imply that he could perform consistently under those circumstances?
Bahahahahaha. You've got me really praying for Amendola to get hurt just because this is so god damn stupid.
1. The past performance has been spotty to say the very least. There is no reason to assume he will all of a sudden turn the corner and become a consistent WCO QB. 2. But when he was given sufficient support, he did what he was asked to do - and even came out on top on a few very tough situations [a la Texans game.] You cannot deny this, as Sanchez stands tall in the playoff records with 4 wins. That was all I was saying. 3. The idea here is to make sure that Sanchez is the bust that we all think he is before ditching him. If he starts to perform in a consistent manner [I doubt this happening] then what's not to like?
Relax people. If Sanchez can cut down his fumbles & interceptions, improve his mechanics and reads, goes through his progressions and looks off defenders, improves his timing on screen passes, starts acting like a team leader, stops pouting, stops ass-dancing and butt-fumbling, and learns a whole new offense...we'll be fine.
Matt Casell begs to differ. NE does not run a WR oriented offense. In fact, they run something closer to the airraid, thier two stapkes are the shallow cross and the no huddle/hurry up. Of the Pats had drafted Geno. They could have dumped Brady tomorrow.
Do you watch the Pats play? Brady is not an outside rhe numbers passer. Remind me again who his leading receiver was for the last several years...I think he used to be a dolphag? The reason the took Amendola, when they had Edelman on the roster(broken foot notwithstanding) is because of the way TT trains thier players to exploit coverages. You take that away, and lose Gronk and Hernandez..brady be bad, or at least not Brady. Their offense is keyed around the slot guy. Not the outside guys.
Matt Cassell? the man who took over an undefeated team and led them to 10 wins that he started in against significantly weaker competition? :rofl2:yeah if NE drafted Geno Brady would have been gone.
This, right here, proves why I should stop believing you when it comes to...anything. Only a moron would say something so stupid
