Arizona and Atlanta both have very good defenses. I'm sure the other teams did too. Point remaining is that Tennessee was neither a good team, nor did they have a good defense. What Sanchez did that game was inexcusable, and the fact that you're making excuses for that is sad.
Well, it's not just friends. It's anyone who is a smart football fan. They realize Sanchez is terrible. Simply put, bad weapons don't make you throw an interception four tiems before throwing into triple coverage. Bad weapons don't make you fumble a snap after a gift punt. There were SEVERAL interceptions Sanchez could have avoided if he threw it to someone who was wide open on a checkdown instead of pump faking and overthrowing. You're blind. I'm sorry, but you are. Geno can at least play at Sanchez's level for a far cheaper price. Guy lost his magic. He's done.
There is no reason why Geno shouldn't start if he plays well in training camp and preseason. Sanchez needs to play at a near high level just to even be considered a better option. I think you Sanchez supporters romanticize those 2 playoff runs when QB's have been dropped after accomplishing far more.
Not making excuses. Just pointing out that it happens to great QBs. At much later stages of their career in some points, Which invalidates your argument that ONLY terrible QBs have bad games. That's just not true. Every single one of those players also has some help around him at the time. Manning - R. Wayne, J. Addai Brees - Colston, Graham, Moore Rodgers - Jennings, Driver, Nelson Brady - D. Branch, T. Brown, K. Faulk Ryan - J. Jones, R. White, M Turner. I would have taken just about any of those players ( at the time ) over any of ours at any point last season. Also, you listed Arizona as one of the teams that only "terrible" QBs play bad against. Don't back pedal now and say they have a good defense.
This is the most ridiculous post I've seen. Those 5 QBs have proven they are elite, outside of Ryan, they all have superbowls, and they all have consistently played at a whole new level than Mark Sanchez. The fact that they've had a few bad games doesn't prove a thing when Sanchez has had whole bad seasons and never, ever, ever played to their level. Talk to me when Sanchez is anywhere near as good as them. This is the problem when people start making excuses for a player, they go off the deep end. Comparing Sanchez to guys where there should be no conversation at all - picking out singular events that occurred and ignoring the big picture, aka reality, to push their ridiculous point. Sure those guys have had a bad game or two, but they aren't jokes of the league. They will all have long careers and Mark Sanchez might be out of the league in a few years - he might be out of a job THIS year. Only with quarterbacks do people do this. - If Shonn Greene fumbles twice - people don't point out the few games where Emmitt Smith, Thurman Thomas, Barry Sanders, etc. fumbled/had a bad game to make some kind of argument. You would get laughed at. Why do people do this with Sanchez/ bad QBs?
If you read my post, you noticed I included a five game stretch. You know the stretch in which Sanchez turned the ball over 10 times and had just one touchdown. All of thoe QBs had isolated bad games. It most certainly wasn't a stretch.
I'm sure this is definitely the most ridiculous post you've ever seen, He said good QBs don't play like shit, I proved they do. If someone told me "only terrible running backs fumble twice", I would be able to pull up a similar list of RBs that are greats that fumbled more then twice in a game. Sanchez will most definitely not be out of a job. Even if he gets cut from the Jets there will be PLENTY of teams waiting to snag him up. Also, If post seasons are your thing I'd say that Sanchez gets pretty close to being "as good" as the http://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/pass_rating_career_playoffs.htm Cue more bashing for bringing up any attempt at good vibes for our Starting QB. I don't care anymore. You people enjoy being miserable.
The comparison for Mark is Stafford and freeman mostly freeman since it was between them in the draft. Both have had their ups and downs both still on the roster. Marks teams have been much more successful than both of them. So no I don't think Mark is getting any more chance than anywhere else. I'm fact it would not have been a question mark getting a fifth year anywhere playing like he had. In fact Mark is better than Freeman. No noway mark is dumped. Hey bash bash bash is easy to do easy to find supporters because it requires little thought just listen to the media. I find g hilarious how we judge a game on one or two throws. Mark lit it week 1 in Buffalo had one questionable throw but all you do see that on the low light reel. Mark is a streaky player that has stretches of great play but his lows are pretty bad. From what I have seen of Schotty and sparano neither of them took the time to get Sanchez I to rhythm. In fact the exact opposite. The hardest down to the the football is on third down and Marks throughout his career has been asked to convert on third down. (Ie ground and pound). You get a QB in rhythm with easy throws and throwing on first down. I am excited to see how Mark does In a rhythm offense with a proven play caller. You help your oline with good play calling running on passing downs throwing on running downs. You make life easier on your QB with good play calling. If Mark fails now there is no more excuses.
Ajitator you havent proved anything. Is there a single professional athlete that has gone a career without having a bad game/day? No, everyone has bad games. Sanchez has had TERRIBLE SEASONS. There's a difference.
This++++, I really think people underestimate the affect the "situational" QB play had last year on marks rhythm. How many times did we get a decent gain on first, just to hand it off to tebow to lose a yard then have a 3rd and long with Sanchez having to run back onto the field to reacquaint himself before the play? If you look back at the stretches where Sanchez has played well it's when he gets into a rhythm and was spreading the ball around. Take away rhythm, take away talented support, You're left with 2012 JETS. Here's to 2013.
And yet he still has a winning record, And one of the best QBRs in playoff history? Did any of you people follow the Jets when they were actually really bad for a stretch? How did you not kill yourselves? Haha,.. Saw his sig and post count, Makes sense now.
First of all if Sanchez is really "better" than Freeman then why didn't Tampa jump on the opportunity to acquire Sanchez in the Revis deal? When all else fails deflect and blame others for Sanchez fuck ups. When is it his fault? No he hasn't been "streaky" he's been flatout bad damn near his entire career. Now you're asking Sanchez to play in an offense that asks him to play to his every weakness. IE quick decisions, timing, accuracy etc. To me it's not that I'm rooting for him to fail it's just that I don't have any confidence in him anymore.
No, he hasnt. In 2012, the Jets offense had a bad season. No PC and a rash of injuries. In 2011, he turned the ball over too much but still put up 32 scores, and was plus 6. So, even with the 2012 season, he has had exactly one losing season. And four road playoff wins. This guy sucks.
What? Freeman all Sanchez needs to have a good year to keep his job. He so bad that he has only had one losing season? Come on now. You do not have to have confidence in him but if he starts rooting for him to fail is just weird. Sanchez will live or die on his own this season. He is going into his fifth year not tenth he will step up or he won't if he does we go to the playoffs if not the Geno era begins.
If we make the pkayoffs, Geno rides pine for at least another year...and the Jets will be set at rhe QB position, till 2020 barring injury.
Do you at least understand why the majority of the fanbase wants to move on from Sanchez? It seems like all I hear is that he won 4 road playoff games, OC, and no weapons. If Sanchez needs all pros at every position then maybe he should play for the vet minimum every year so we can use that money to go after top of the line WR's, TE's and RB's.
The Jets are the poster child for inconsistency. I became a fan the day they drafted Chad Pennington when I was 11 years old, so I've seen my fair share of ups and downs. Mark has a winning record because the defense was incredible in the 09-10 seasons. You guys see Mark winning 4 road playoff wins, I see a top 5 defense that put us in a position to win those games. True, he peformed well in those 4 wins, but the carry-over to the regular season has not been good. What I have seen is a career completion percentage of 55%, 68 TD's to 69 INT's, and a career Yrds/G avg under 200 ypg. All from a top 5 pick that started one year in college.
He didn't ( has never had ) all pros at every position. He also has never AFAIK put up a stink about his contract. You can't blame him for Tanny being dumb with the extension. I can understand people want to see GOOD QB leading this team. I just don't know why everyone thinks Geno is that guy and Sanchez can never be again. He's still young. I just think everyone should just be hoping for the best man to win the job come Sept. Lets be honest, as much as some people here would disagree, we ( the people on this board ) don't know jack shit about playing / coaching / personnel at a professional NFL level, Otherwise we wouldn't be on a forum, we'd be on a team. Lets let the coaches decide who gives us the best chance to win. To coin a phrase.
You do know our top 5 defenses failing, Not our QB play, is what kept us from the superbowl those 2 years. Then our win now contracts caught up to us and we ended up with a demolished roster the past 2 years. Sanchez / Jets Playoff Season Stats Reg Season - ( 54.3% 29TDs 33INT Playoffs - ( 60.51% 9TDs 3INTS ) Jets Defense Rankings - Reg Season - 271.9 y/g 16.9 p/g Playoffs - 342.5 y/g 19.8 p/g Defense may have gotten us to the playoffs, But Sanchez and the offense kept us in the games once we were there.
