It should also be noted that while college stats are generally not meaningful Geno had a tremendously low INT percentage. It's probably better than any NFL QB's college INT percentage that you can find.
This was true in both offenses that he ran. He did have a high number of fumbles though, likely because he spent so much time in the shotgun but he also has small hands. That argues that he is a conservative QB in terms of the throws he makes but you don't want him around major traffic. Which in turn argues that trying to turn him into a running QB is a mistake the Jets should avoid if possible.
No. That would be on Mark. You can look atother QBs, and see Schtty sux, and Sparano, isnt even an OC...becaise hes not good at it.
So if Sanch comes out and performs poorly, and is still the same inaccurate, turnover prone guy he's been his entire career, you will admit that you were wrong??
It's hard to believe because Muck Sanchez has proven himself to be total dog shit time and time again. No team with any self respect would let him wear a uniform, let alone start a game. If Sanchez starts the game, its 100% certain that Rex and crew will all be fired after the season for being total dog shit. If they start Geno, at least they are showing they are not completely brain dead, and could have a chance. When Muck comes out and plays like the worthless sack of dog shit that he is, the same knuckleheads will be on this thread with the same tired excuses they've repeated for the last 2 years (he didn't have the weapons! .. but he won 4 playoff games!). If you have watched every Jet game over the last 4 years and haven't come to the conclusive decision that Muck Sanchez is worthless, no amount of objective reality and bad play will convince you otherwise.
Mark Sanchez is an average QB who started on a great team built to win and now that team is mostly gone. That's it really.
you make such a great argument. really thorough stuff, I mean wow. You might as well have said "HE DID THE BUTTFUMBLE HES A BUTTFUMBLER AND THATS ALL HE'LL DO ALL SEAZON HES GAY AND THE SUXORZ.!!!!!! which is the high caliber arguments I've heard elsewhere. You could have mentioned Sanchez's habit of telegraphing throws or panicking after a lost first read or his overall regressed form while throwing. but calling him dog shit 20 times works too i guess. This guy isn't good, and needs a lot to work well enough to be average even, but we can at least be intelligent on our critiques of him.
Yeah it's like buttfumble is all people can say these days. It's kinda sad. That's their argument for everything. "Did you know Sanchez has the #6 post season QB rating in the history of the NFL?" "BUTTFUMBLE!!!" "Did you know Sanchez has a higher playoff win percentage than most elite QBs today?" "BUTTFUMBLE!!!" "Did you know that Sanchez will be playing in a new system, that he had success with in the past?" "Dude he buttfumbled and he will do it all year!" It's funny. I can't say that Mark doesn't deserve the criticism for a poor regressing season last year, but people need to get over it. We all know what's at stake here.
Thats what everybody seems to be implying. Like he did it twenty time last year instead of once. ... well it is aired 50 times a day on sports center, maybe people actually think its happened that many times.
Sanchez should have been cut before last season (as I was calling for on these forums). He is a truly awful football player. If you need to know the reasons why, just read the last 615 pages of this thread (ignoring the post of any jackass who says, "he didn't have the weapons!" or "but he won 4 playoff games!"), or watch the last 3 years of Jets games. The debate is over, all that is left is to pity and ridicule the few dead-enders who refuse to admit that Muck is dog shit, and hope that Rex can pull his head out of his ass and start someone else.
if Sanchez was able to be cut without cap ramifications he'd be gone he's not starting for the Jets week 1, Idzik is not having it
