Only with the Jets is this a story. You hardly hear a peep that the Pats just got another player arrested and are having one of the worst offseasons I can remember, yet somehow the media manages to focus on the Jets made up "drama".

So what Geno didnt go. Yes, I thought it was beneficial for him to practice with the receivers, but maybe he thought that he was better off doing his own thing with his own coaches- breaking the mold of the Sanchez era.

This should really be a non story... the only practices that matter are in Cortland.

who exactly is at jets west?

i mean i guess its probably fun going out to the clubs after not catching balls all day but even that has to get old at some point.

Well, look at the results of Jets West so far. Maybe it's better that Geno doesn't go.

I love the fact he's not attending. A QB with some fucking balls. Fuck Sanchez's soft ass and any need to win a popularity contest. They are in a battle for that spot. And Geno is not going to concede or give the impression Sanchez is the leader. i love it. That is the type of attitude a NY QB should have. I neither fear nor concede to anyone. Even if he loses the battle he will win respect.

Sanchez is trying to win this one through the media now. A display of leadership. Geno is saying " I will see you on the gridiron when we get back to camp. Prove it there" Geno has that NY Swagger. He is in Sanchez's head.

The Sanchize label died at the end of last season. Sanchstop-gap more like it, at best Sanchcomeback if all goes right. but never Sanchize, never again.

Good point. Why should Smith have to attend Sanchez' mostly-about-nothing annual slumber party? If attending Jets West would represent in Smith's mind an ackowlegement of a Sanchez-then-smith pecking order, then all the more for Smith to blow off some scripted "go along to get along" game of follow the leader. Smith's his own man at this point with just as much right to that QB job as Sanchez.

it sounds like sancho really is using the twitter to fight his battle. he seems a bit butt hurt that he has a guy who can play, even if he hasnt taken a snap from center in 4 years.

Geno has smarts and talent. Mark hasn't got a prayer. Well except for Rex's deep deep affection for him.

"Sanchize" died after the Ravens game in 2011.

I Don't think Smith was invited personally, nor was Tebow until the media started running stories bat Tebow not being invited.

Sanchez said everyone is invited, Smith said he was interested but wasnt personally invited. Smith is a rookie and should attend team building activities, but it's competition so it's all good.

Imo I don't think either qb missed the others presence, as they have and will see plenty of one another soon.

I'm glad he didn't attend Jets West. Shows the type of man he is. He's not here to make friends at Sanchez's paddy-cake camp or kiss Sanchez's ass. He's here to come in take his fucking job and make this his franchise.

i dunno, i think they are probably going through the route tree and making sure they know the terminology and maybe even throwing in some hot reads or something, so its possible mark could have a leg up from geno not going.

i mean even just from a chemistry standpoint, if they are all going through the route tree, its just more practice

i think geno fucked up a little. i dont think its going to affect his play, but i think he would definitely have benefited from the experience

It aint about Sanchez, even though he foots the bill.

    Its about the other players.

    Hill,Kerley,ivory, etc....

Also, unless he thinks hes that fucking good, it tells the coaching staff that his attitude is more important to him, than spending time with his teammates, which says, he either, A: isnt hungry for the job, or b:. Knows he isnt winning it and having given up, doesnt care.

    P.S.

The only way this becomes Genos franchise....is if Sanchez blows out his knee.
