Yeah, saying Sanchez is clutch is like saying Rex Ryan is fat.

He has ONE season of bad play.

    room has had:

    MORE talent
    an EASIER division
    HOME playoff games
EASIER conference(until recently- when he was making the playoffs the AFC was better)

and yet he has 1 playoff win. Romo is a Rivers/Schaub type. They can play well enough to get there, will put up some nice fantasy #s but in the big games they shrink. mark doesn't.

The guys that do it all game are the great ones, there are less than handful of those guys in the league. he's not great, never has been and never will be.

I don't disagree about Tannenbaum but it's silly to act like he was a terrible GM. he made some bad decisions that got him fired but overall he did an excellent job for us. 80-90% of the league would want the success we had 2006-2012.

Kind of...until January rolls around and one steps up while the other steps back.

Mark plays well in big games? Huh? It's a 16 game season, every game is as big as the next one. His overall body of work has shown him as a below average QB. Again, 4 playoff wins from 3 and 4 years ago don't outweigh the overall body of work.

The premise that Mark plays well in big games is a bit of facade. He played very well in those road playoff games. There's no denying that, but you guys are only analyzing a small sample size.

Let's not forget the big games he did not perform well.

    1. Rookie year. Week 15 vs. Atlanta at home. Essentially a must win. They lost 10-7 and everyone believed their playoff hopes to be crushed.
    2. 2011- Christmas Eve. Vs. the New York Giants. An absolute must win to make the playoffs and crush the rival Giants playoff hopes. Mark shits the bed. You know the rest.
    3. Last year. Thanksgiving vs. New England at home. BUTT FUMBLE. Enough said.

Mark doesn't disappear under the big lights and that's great, but labeling him clutch because he won some playoff games is a little premature. Did anyone view Flacco as "clutch" before last season? He also had success in the playoffs on the road..

every game is not as big as the next one, the pressure in Sept is very different than the pressure in Dec or January.

It's hard to win in January, even some of the "greats" struggle yet mark played really well and helped us nearly reach 2 title games. That doesn't happen by accident. It amazes me that fans would rather have a better fantasy QB that loses in January than a worse fantasy QB that wins in January.

    Jets history:
Most playoff wins by starting QB:
    1. Mark Sanchez 4
    2. Joe Namath 2
    Chad Pennington 2
    Richard Todd 2
    5. Vinny testaverde 1
    Pat Ryan 1

Most road wins by starting QB:
    1. Mark Sanchez 4
    2. Richard Todd 2

back to back seasons w/ playoff wins by starting QB:

    Mark Sanchez 2009 & 2010
    THAT'S IT

Playoff #s of Jets postseason starting QBs:
franchise leader in bold(minimum 2 games started and finished)

    Namath 50-117, 636 yds, 3 TDs, 4 INTs, 54.6 rating, 2-1 record, led O to 16 PPG

    Todd 78-140, 1026 yds, 4 TDs, 12 INTs, 52.9 rating, 2-2 record, led O to 20 PPG

    O'Brien 45-67, 504 yds, 2 TDs, 4 INTs, 74.5 rating, 0-2 record, led O to 12 PPG

Ryan 32-51, 340 yds, 5 TDs, 1 INT, 106.7 rating, 1-1 record, led O to 28 pts in lone game started and finished.

    Testaverde 81-128, 908 yds, 4 TDs, 3 INTs, 85 rating, 1-2 record, led O to 23 PPG

    Pennington 107-178, 1166 yds, 7 TDs, 4 INTs, 83.2 rating, 2-3 record, led O to 18 PPG

    Sanchez 95-157, 1155 yds, 9 TDs, 3 INTs, 94.3 rating, 4-2 record, led O to 20 PPG

Among all NFL starts since entering league in 2009:

    playoff wins in AFC:
    Flacco 7
    Sanchez 4
    Brady 3
    Ben 2
    Peyton Manning 2
    Tebow 1
    Schaub 1
    Yates 1

    2nd in AFC

    playoff wins in NFL:
    Flacco 7
    Rodgers 5
    Eli Manning 4
    Brees 4
    Sanchez 4
    Kaepernick 2
    Warner 1
    Favre 1
    Romo 1
    Cutler 1
    Hasslebeck 1
    Ryan 1
    Smith 1
    Wilson 1

    tied for 3rd in NFL

Not bad for a guy who can't play but we'd rather have better individual #s and less playoff wins.

What about December games? Can you define the pressure a NFL player is feeling then? What's Mark's record as a starter in December?

Like the Giants or Titans game werent win or go home games. Again, you cant cherry pick 4 games from 3 and 4 years ago and say they hold more value than his overall career.

    Before 2013 Flacco:

    won a playoff game where he completed 9 passes w/ a 39% comp %
won a playoff game where he completed 4 passes in only 10 attempts for 34 yds and 0 Tds w/ 1 INT

    Threw 8 TDs, 8 INTs
    led O to 19 PPG
D held opps to 16 PPG

I'd absolutely rather have a better QB with better #'s than winning this mythical trophy for divisional playoff games.

    1. It was a cold, windy day, it held both offense down including great reg season QB Matt Ryan. mark and O gave D a late lead, D blew it.

    2. We were in control of that game until our "great" D allowed a 99 yd TD on 3rd and 9 from the NYG 1

    3. That game was lost long before the butt fumble.

he has had some bad late season games but he hasn't had a bad playoff game yet.

    you'd rather have:

Philip Rivers who has great fantasy #s yet one div rd win(when he was hurt and his backup led team to GW TD)

Matt Schaub who has never won a div rd game

Tony Romo w/ one home playoff win under his belt

    etc...

Id rather not have Rivers, Schaub or Sanchez.

    I'd take Romo.

Lol @ attributing team stats to a single BAD quarterback. That is just so ludicrous, lol. Watching this scrub fail YET AGAIN is going to be so entertaining. I wonder how he'll surpass last year's buttfumble?

The Titans game was in 2012 when we had NO HELP for our QB, CHAZ SCHILENS was starting.

The NYG game he played poor against a great defense that carried NYG to a SB title and we were in control of that game until the D allowed a 99 yd TD on 3rd and 9.

and he's 8-9 in reg season games after 11/30 which includes the pathetic 2012 season and 2011 collapse.

and you'd never win anything but fantasy championships. I'd take all of them for my fantasy team but if everything is equal w/ regards to talent I'd take Sanchez.
