I didn't like the more than 21 either, I was more interested in the 0-10 points which was surprising. The league has what 20 losses like that since 2009, the Jets have 4/20 or 20% of them. That's ridiculous and part of it plays into Sanchez, our offense and it's limitations because of him, Schotty, Rex, Tanny, etc. It's still Jets like that we account for the most and don't have the league average of around 90% winning rate in those games. The streaky QB play plus Rex's philosophy led to some of those horrific offensive performances. And to the real top D comment, I wouldn't say in 2010 a "real top D" was needed to stop the Jets in 2010. A lot of their offensive wounds that year were self inflicted.
I hope he could be Rose Bowl MVP if we played as 5th year NFL starter  I just hope we finally see that he gets it. It doesn't have to be like Rodgers, Manning, Brees or Brady. Or even Ryan or Eli. Something that shows he understands game situation, makes the right reads, and knows what to do and does it confidently. I don't want to see him thinking out there or looking lost. It happened way too much the last 2 years
you really have quite the hard on for morningwood. i must ask why you have such a huge boner for the guy? he is a decent oc in the league, he has been for some time. but he isnt the second fucking coming. please stop making him out to be.
 I wondered who would be the first to do this Just remember at some point in Jets history you have supported a Nagle, Kotite, Thomas, Odonnell, Brister, Mitchell or the like and I had faith in them too. There comes a point where you have enough. It's time for change. History repeats itself in this hoping Sanchez and Rex get it right. It won't til we address the offense.
firing rex would be history repeating itself too. this whole fire a coach after couple of down years is never going to work. we have to let someone build a program. otherwise we are spinning are wheels hoping to catch lightning in a bottle. rex is a good coach,he should be ours for another 10 years
I don't question his ability on Defense, but he has not shown any signs of improvement in being a Head Coach. He lets the offense wither while only tending to one side of the ball. We hired a HC not a DC.
Hobbes, Pennington won Comeback Player of the Year by an overwhelming margin under his one full season under Schotty, and the team made the playoffs that year. Pennington played well enough that year. Sam Bradford had his best year under Schotty last year. You are picking through the stats to find an excuse for Sanchez here, if you want to blame Schottenheimer, who Sanchez took a nosedive without last year. He was the offensive coordinater that brought the Jets to two Championship games with the likes of Sanchez at QB as well, don't forget. That took a little know-how, I'm sure. Saying that Schottenheimer sabotaged Sanchez is ridiculous.
Its not so much Merty, as it is the demonstrable upgrade he is over the prior OCs. Look, what he does, and what we have in Swnchez is a good match. The only good match for the prior OCs, is a different line of work. Schotty runs an unsound offense, its that simple. Mark ran a similar offense at SC to what Marty likes to do. SC had a talent mismatch that allowed them to beat on teams that will not exist at this level, but Sanchez has proven, that all things beong equal he can win, and make that play when its needed. Hey, I was down on Schotty sonce Pennington was here. I gave Schotty the benefit of the doubt, thinking a more physically talented player might make it work. And I am sure the FO thought so too, or else they would have dumped him after Favre left. Bottom line is, Schottys got a great line of shit, An offense....not so much.
im not a huge fan of schottenheimer either but he wasnt and isnt the worst oc in the history of the league. i thought sparano was terrible, moreso than schotty. i really dont care for morningwood but he may be a decent oc for us. i just pray he wasnt brought in to hold the oc side this year and replace rex if he doesnt improve. that would be catastrophic.
Again with the Bradford defense? How about I counter woth Brees. Naaah. How about, Bradford barely matched his rookie season... http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BradSa00.htm Stop making shit up. :rofl2: Are you guys :drunk: or joking? Yes, Penny got comeback player of the year? So the fuck what, he tossed... [ 17 tds, and 16 ints while completing around 65%. however. it took Schottys brilliant offense.....6, yes count'em 6 weeks, to score a point in the first qtr. A mike nugent field goal. It took 7 weeks, yup, count'em 7 to score a TD in the 1st qtr, with a 65%. Passer. Sanchez was banging Cheerleaders at Mission Viejo, but I am SURE it was his fault. if you cant see from that, how bad Schotty is, you are either blinded by Sanchez hate, or just plain dumb. Which is not to say, I think you should share my opinion on Sanchez. Honestly the jury is still out. My money is on him. But to defend Schottenheimer...really?
Yeah there are no excuses for losing games when the D allows 10 points or less. There were 17 losses when a D allowed 10 points or less in the NFL since 2009 and the Jets have 4 which is 24%. Like you said that is ridiculous. I don't know why you guys are getting caught up on the over 21 points thing. I think the guy was just trying to make a point with extremes. Going from allowing 10 or less to allowing more than 21. We have only had 2 games since 2009 where the D allowed 21 points so saying more than 21 only leaves out 2 wins. He didn't cover 11 to 21 though. Sanchez actually has a higher winning percentage in games where the D allows 11 to 21 points than he does when the D allows 10 or less. Sanchez is 18-4 when the D allows 11 to 21 points. That means he is 14-4 when the D allows 10 points or less and is 23-27 when the D allows more than 10 points.
To blame Schottenheimer is the ridiculous thing. You are completely basing your "evidence" after you've already made your conclusion. Schotty was considered for Head Coaching jobs during this mess. First quarter, really? The first quarter tells the story when it suits your argument now? In those 7 weeks, the Jets went 4-3...the loses involved facing Manning and Brady, and also surrendering 41 points to the Jags. I don't think your pal Junk would approve of your reckless use of fantasy stats, either. You are being completely ridiculous...I wish I could be nicer, but there is no other way to put it. You may have a shadow of an argument if Sanchez didn't have his worst year BY FAR after Schotty left...but that, or course, can be attributed to the lack of talent on offense; in other words, it's everybody but Sanchez's fault for his own play...ALWAYS. You are the definition of a homer, God bless you. Stick your head out of your ass. Pennington's TD-to-INT ratio was just as bad in another year, yet will you consider that? Blame the coordinator, and good luck with that.
