Who do you think you are to make that determination? I don't care what you think if you can't back it up with facts. It is a fact that he had a torn biceps and rotator cuff. Common sense tells me that could affect how someone throws the ball. You telling me that it is just an excuse means nothing. Favre telling me it did and me seeing how he played the last 5 games means much more. You were trying to compare the winning % of all the teams from 2008 to 2009 right? Your numbers came up with an 8% difference. That is incorrect. The correct percentage is 4.5%. You posted the wrong numbers. You came up wrong because you excluded the 3 extra AFC east games while adding the other 3 to the rest of the SOS. I already explained this to you repeatedly. If you don't believe it go back and prove me wrong. My numbers on on post #10475 on page 524. Good luck!
The facts are he was more than capable to play at a high level, the facts are he made a career playing through pain, the facts are his decision making/lack of desire to want to be here cost us a div title not an injury. It's funny how you can make a million excuses for a HOF QB but you never discuss sanchez being hurt at the end of 2011, I wonder why that is? I posted the 13 teams we played in 2008 vs. the 13 teams we played in 2009. the 2009 teams had a significantly higher win % and were significantly better. Sorry those facts bother you and even if it wasn't significant anyone who knows anything about this game could tell you how easy our 2008 sched was while you pretend it was difficult.
after 527 pages, the mods should rename this thread to the " hot taco" thread. he throws like a chick anyways.....
Again, I'm not a huge Schotty fan. I just don't feel he was as bad as a lot of you think he is. No doubt he had some questionable play calling at times. Ideally you want to have a good balance of run vrs the pass but sometimes game situations will dictate the need to pass more. Even with Favre being injured, you aren't going to run the ball on 3rd and long or when you are losing late in the 4th. Just for fun I broke down the run vrs pass play calling in those last 5 games. For the most part we had a good balance of run / pass until game situations dictated the need to pass. There were certainly some situations where we could have ran the ball a little more often but for the most part the ratio wasn't as bad as it seems.
:rofl2: Those are the facts? Then you can show me those things are true? Can you show me video evidence of him throwing the ball in practice like normal? No? Do you have a quote of a coach that says the injury didn't affect him? No? Do you have a quote from Favre or someone close to him talking about his lack of desire to be here? No? I don't think you know what a fact is. Saying things with nothing to back it up is not facts. Here are a couple of facts for you. He had a torn biceps and rotator cuff. He said it affected how he threw the ball. Whether it really affected him or not can not be proven. Only he knows if it is the truth or not. Since it is proven that he had a torn biceps and rotator cuff, I'll take his word over a guy on a message board who has no clue and has an axe to grind. I will also believe my own eyes that saw a difference in the velocity of his throws. I judge based on the facts. You flat out make stuff up. We've discussed Sanchez being hurt at the end of 2011 a ton already. It is funny how you call people out for lack of reading and comprehension skills when you clearly have trouble with one or the other. Maybe these quotes will refresh your memory: -------------------------------------------------------- We are not talking about bumps and bruises. We are talking about significant injuries like a torn biceps and partially torn rotator cuff. I can and have provided you proof of those injuries. The only thing you posted was a link where Plaxico said after the season that Sanchez was hampered by shoulder injuries in 2011. Plax is not a doctor, and his word isn't proof of anything. There were rumors that Sanchez was dealing with a stinger / pinched nerve in his neck / shoulder, and that is probably what Plaxico is talking about but there is no proof of a significant injury like there is with Favre. If you take Plaxico's word as proof of a significant injury then what Sanchez said about the injury kind of blows your argument away. http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...ts-qb-mark-sanchez-says-neck-just-little-sore He never missed any practice time and by all accounts didn't look any different in practice. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- There is no comparison to a torn biceps and rotator cuff. We didn't play 13 games in 2008 and 13 games in 2009. I totally understand why you want to exclude 3 games in 2008 against 11-5, 11-5 and 7-9 teams while excluding 3 games against 7-9, 10-6 and 6-10 teams in 2009. We played 16 games. The SOS in 2008 was .470. The SOS in 2009 was .515. That includes the .875 winning % the Colts added and and the .625 winning % the Bengals added to 2009 SOS which significantly skews the numbers. Even when you don't consider that the 14-2 Colts and 10-6 Bengals gave us less effort than a 2-12 team would have, the difference in the SOS is only 4.5%. If you don't believe that is a fact, then prove me wrong. My numbers are right in front of you on post #10477. If you are at all objective and take the Colts and Bengals games into consideration, the 2009 schedule was clearly easier. Those are the facts.
I don't need to see him in practice, I saw him in GAMES where it matters and he threw the ball just fine. If he made better decisions we would have EASILY won the division. Even w/ a QAURETR AND A HALF od Indy backups 2009 was significantly tougher considering that neither NE or Miami were anywhere near as good as their records in 2008. All the facts and all reality tells us 2009 was tougher but you can think what you want, pretend the '08 sched was tough and poor ole Brett was so hurt it derailed our championship express. That's on you.
Facts just get in the way of a good argument. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4462072 http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/17/sports/football/17favre.html?_r=0
Nowhere did I say he wasn't hurt but it's still an excuse and a poor one. He made his career out of playing through pain, I posted a link that said the injury was all about pain tolerance and he had a legendary tolerance for pain. We didn't choke b/c he got hurt, we choked b/c he made awful decisions b/c he didn't want to be here.
You'd have a better argument if you said he was simply distracted by all NY had to offer a country boy.
haha you're a buffoon. nobody even cares to discuss this with you anymore. now the tune changes again. you are just out looking for a fight, you always do the same shit over and over again. take up the opposite position and fight for it like your life depends on it. and when it doesnt go your way you bring up another hot topic... then you look reality straight in the face and tell it that its full of shit. its tiring, i hope acad and testaverde dont even bother to respond to this sillyness. its what you are looking for, them telling you how absurd you really are must get your juices flowing. its like you get off on it or something. nobody even cared about this topic until you came back today and rekindled the fire of absurdity. its not debate worthy at this point, the rules change too often and the blatantly obvious is told that it is incorrect in favor of your own personal conjecture.
who changed anything? Please show me? You haven't debated anything, when you do you get embarrassed so please whine off into the sunset rather than the whiney deflections.
Its not. Nor would this discussion be nearly as acrimonious, if we had drafted Matt Barkley, or Ryan Nassib, instead we had the misfortune to have an overhyped under scrutinized fall so far in the draft, that we would have been passing up value.
