As I recently stated within another thread, I'm not willing to overlook this addition of Winslow Jr. He was never given a chance to put up numbers behind New England's TE's in Gronkowski and Hernandez last season but that doesn't change the fact that our new addition at the TE position in Winslow Jr. put up 218 receptions along with 2,377 receiving yards during 2009, 2010 and 2011. Much stronger production when compared to Keller (who was in the same situation with Sanchez as Winslow was with Freeman). That's an average of 72.6 receptions and 792.3 receiving yards per season, with a pretty bad quarterback in Freeman. Maybe pretty bad wouldn't be the correct use of wordage, but those numbers were put up with an inexperienced, developing and/or struggling quarterback down in Tampa in Freeman. What I appreciate most about this signing is his overall toughness. The man has always played with a warrior mentality and his personality (on the football field) could translate on the field while others feed off his energy. Our G.M with another strong move. Low risk with a potentially high reward.
Good signing if we had the wide receivers and if the Oline works. Shut down Winslow and that should just about do it for a defensive game plan. Holmes probably goes on the pup. Need to see if this new Olline will gel to protect Sanchez. He can't pass when flustered. Everything depends on the Oline.
Cumberland sucks and is way overrated on here for some reason. He's never shown anything to garner the enthusiasm he gets here.
Cumberland was undrafted; I think most of us are hoping he shows up. I don't think he is overrated I think he needs to be given the time on the field and he was a wr in college and could be a threat in the middle of the field all season long permitting health
Winslow news making its way over to the Bills board. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/159114-jets-sign-kellen-winslow-jr/
^Why the fuck would we care what Bills fans think of a low-risk decent-reward transaction such as this?
And...maybe, they will not need blocking...because theyarent going to hold on to the ball for three days.
Probably stated before... but now we have a tight end that has insight into TE-obsessed Patriots offensive playbook. That has to play heavily into the signing for Rex.
They haven't had a competitive team this century so they have to dream up new things to be excited about as fans. Apparently the jets upgrading at TE is one of those things?
I went to this so called board. It's a bunch of ass clowns who can't even get facts about their own team correct, not to mention fact abou other teams. There must be a reason you lurk here every year (if not daily). Just change colors bro, you seem pessimistic enough to join the crew....f
