Did you miss his post about a month ago explaining why he kept counting down to June 1st? The whole thing was a big joke at your expense and you still don't get it.
Dec/Jan last 2 seasons: 2011: win at wash, sanchez throws late Td to win it win vs. KC, domination loss at Philly, ALL on defense loss vs. NYG: loss on O and D but D allowed game/season changing play loss at Mia: who cares season was over but it was on both units w/ D blowing 2nd half lead and allowing mind blowing drive to awful dolphins O w/o their best player 2012: win vs. Ari, sanchez was horrible, luckily Ari's O was worse. win at Jax, team plays well enough loss at Ten, mostly on Sanchez loss vs. SD, team effort, sanchez didn't play. loss at Buf: who cares? game was meaningless
Do you have a theory why his December's have seemed more brutal than the rest of the year? Year 1: 3 december games, 2 passing TDs, 3 INTs Year 2: 4 december games, 1 passing TD, 5 INTs Year 3: 4 december games, 6 passing TD, 4 INTs (Mia game was JAN 1st where he throws 2 TDs and 3 INTs) Year 4: 4 december games, 1 passing TD, 8 INTs. Only one year of positive TD to INT throwing ratio in December. His regular season average is almost 1:1 with 68 TDs to 69 INTs. Year 1: 4 January games, 3 playoffs, 4 TDs, 2 INTs Year 2: 3 January games, 3 playoffs, 5 TDs, 1 INT Year 3: 1 January game, 0 playoffs, 2 TDs, 3 INTs. Year 4: 0 January games I don't know if he degenerates at the end of the season, but I think he's just always been a really streaky passer. The most reliable he is, it usually happens when you limit his throws to passer friendly situations, which is what the Jets tried to do and almost successfully did on two playoff runs.
The real irony is that Rex Ryan is probably going to wind up sunk by Mark Sanchez in the end. The playoff wins weren't about Sanchez. They were about a defense that got the Jets to the playoffs both years but particularly in 2009 and then enabled them to beat some really good offenses while limiting them to very low points. The brain damage that has set in about Sanchez is about a guy that had one pretty good game in two playoff runs and had several other games where he was just asked not to screw things up too badly and obliged. This will become clear in about a decade when we look back at the situation. Richard Todd had really strong defenders also by the end of his run but most fans were very much on the fence about him and ready to jump off as soon as the trouble started again. Mark Sanchez is behind even that curve at this point. And nobody thinks Richard Todd was a particularly good QB looking back thirty years later. The occasional heroics have been thoroughly covered by the muck of the majority of his career.
I could see a time where a younger, less bald Junc would endlessly defend Richard Todd too "He went on the road and won 2 playoff games. He's the only QB to win a road P.O. game in our HISTORY. And he did it twice!" "You are just an average fan who reads too much of The Sporting News, and listens to too much sportstalk radio. A good fan like me isn't ready to give up on a guy who won 2 playoff games for us!"
They were about the D, rex, the run game, the OL and the QB. Sanchez was really good throughout his postseason career, he had one bad HALF in the 2010 WC game in the 1st half. Other than that he was really good throughout and we don't win as much as we did w/o him playing very well. Richard Todd had playoff games where he threw 4 and 5 INTs, Mark threw 3 INts in 6 games(all on the road). Todd held us back, mark was a reason we won and if we had our D step up in title gams we would have made SBs. I may not be as dashing as I was in my 20s but I still have my hair. Richard Todd held us back, Todd won 2 playoff games, one where Freeman McNeil set a rushing record and a 2nd where the D forced 5 turnovers. In the 2 playoff wins his D forced NINE TOs, in 6 playoff games Sanchez's D/STs forced 8 TOs but yeah they are the exact same player. I noticed you didn't respond to the QBs comparison, I wonder why that is?
hehe... -3 days till no mo sancho!!!! i know we are just going in circles but its beyond me how you can look past the poor play of the qb even in the wins. at this point i wish someone who doesnt have a biased side would go through each game pass by pass and see just how poorly mark sanchez throws the ball. i know i havent been watching a different game from junc and hobbes so i cant understand how we can possibly have such different perspectives of the qb who throws as many balls into the back of guys heads and to the sound guy on the sideline as he does good passes on time and on target.
Because according to them it's "circumstances". Wayne Hunter sucked and I didn't see anyone making excuses for him. When any other player makes a mistake they get called on it. But with Sanchez it's ALWAYS an excuse. It's ridiculous.
No matter the argument his shitty play this fall will ,when Rex plays him, more than prove what a fucking loser he is. In before 10.
I can't stomach another afternoon of "hey, let's see how many times I can turn the ball over today!" from Intchez. The guy is just dreadful at QB.
Dude, Junc, cval and I are the ones with no bias. All we are saying is that he deserves half a chance with a decent circumstance. We all concede he has flaws, but believe that hes shown enough to play for a decent OC. The bias, is on the hater side, half of whom admit the organization has done nothing to support him, but refuse to consider anything in context. Arguing 2012 is part andnparcel of that.
