I'm trying to figure out at what point you will bring a rational argument to the table, Hobbes.

You failed to do it when you were hating on Revis, and you are failing to do it in splendid fashion with Sanchez.

I haven't paid much attention to the politics threads over the years, but do you bring this much failure to that forum as well?

He did guarantee Romney would win in a landslide against overwhelming evidence that the exact opposite was about to happen. So yes he forms an obsessive opinion and then ignores all evidence that may conflict with his beliefs, just as he does here.

Though I don't know if you can truly call a sub 55% completion passer with 38 interceptions and 19 fumbles over those two seasons he "led" the Jets to the playoffs as being a game manager.

Good, now let's see it translate to a game scenario. He was supposedly throwing the ball with zip and showing more understand last OTAs and it didn't translate.

I feel like Sanchez gets absolutely crushed on a rather consistent basis, and always gets back on his feet, shaking off the cobwebs as well as he can. Say what you will about the guy, but I don't understand how people question his toughness. Maybe it's me. Maybe I'm losing my mind.

what dont you guys get. This is a Vagiants town, and Jets bashing sells.

Tell me, since the draft how many Positive articles have we seen about Geno?

U,mmmm.none. The media narrative, today is...If Geno can handle the workload he starts, which translates to, when Sanchez, the obvious guy starts, its because Geno sucks too.

Hey...if thats the narrative you want to buy into have at it.

    Prediction....

Marty gets Sanchez to play like a 5 pick. Instead of the "wow, they got him turned around" story, it will be how the 39th pick, couldnt unseat the turnover machine.

They are already screwing smith..,fcol, the " runner" story, after the draft thing.....nothing about his play.
But you got treated to the 3 picks.

    physical toughness?

    yeah he's got that definitely.

    Mental toughness?

... during plays he seems to panic bit too much when his firsts read isn't there and he feels broken overall, after a year or so of bad play its hard to explain.

for a counter point Geno has a mental issue as well, when his team was down some he reflected that back on his play and attitude, wasn't much of a motivator (which is actually the most concerning part about him to me)

No shit Sherlock, where did you park the squadcar?

Playoffs is the goal, then stringing 3 or 4 straight. But why dont you clue me in, on how a Bills or Phins fan...has been that close.

Right now we are like Patrick Ewing, during the Jordan Era...Close, but not quite.

With all the flaws this team has had, not named Sanchez.maybe Marty is that piece.maybe not.

The draft, says the F.O. Thinks so.

Geno, is going to be a player. I see no downside there. I dont see him there yet.

He really only needs tp have outside guys that can force CBs inside...because thats his flaw, the deep out he throws OOB.

Geno can be mad good. Just not today.

Uh, ok. Nobody gives a shit about reaching the AFC title game, it only raises expectations, expectations your boy failed to meet. He "led" us to two title games in 09/10 then he "led" us nowhere in 11/12.

Who cares what the Phins or Bills do? It's not hard to look good when standing next to a pile of dog shit.

Did Pat Ewing ever win a title?

In regards to MM talking up your boy, I'll tell you what you told us after his shitty OTA: let's talk in September.

I don't think mental and physical toughness are so easily separated.

Anyway, yeah, he's broken. Sucks, no. Broken, yes.

Sounds to me like someone who wants to get on the QB's good side to get more throws....nothing like buttering up your QB in the press.

Yeah, because Schillens knows good football, having played for the Raiders and all.

If Sanchez is successful, I"ll wire you 50 dollars. Successful being an 11-5 season and making it to the divisional round. If he doesn't accomplish that, you have to put in your sig 'Sanchez is a terrible quarterback and I was a fool to believe in him'.

thats a great way of putting this situation.

he had potential, we all saw it, but can he be fixed enough to use it again?

the mental errors are killing him big time thats for sure. can that be fixed?

taking away decision making is a good way to start, but i guess we'll see.

the winner of this competition will be the one that keeps turnovers down and makes the best decisions in bad situations.
