Not if the guy was a known douchebag. You have another writer calling him out, and you are quetioning me?
Except, he went to passing offense for last year. St louis was 23 overall. Schitty cant crack 20. Fact, and Testaverde, couldnt man up to something that google apshows in 5 seconds.
Even if the source is complete bullshit, I still think ~90% of the team wants someone different under center because anyone with working eyeballs would.
 What the average fan doesn't realize is Sanchez' great ability to hand the ball off to the running backs. He works so hard at it that it hampers his ability to pass the ball well. Why else do you think we had the #1 ranked rushing O with Sanchez at QB while the passing O was ranked 31st? Duh!! In 2006, Pennington's pass O was ranked #17 but the rushing O was ranked #20. Obviously Pennington put more work into throwing the ball instead of working on the handoff and the running game suffered because of it. :rofl2: Schottenheimer ran the entire O including the passing O. Total O ranking includes a running game which has little to do with the QB. The much more important stat is how other QBs performed under the same system. Sanchez has been the worst and has had a much higher ranked running game then any of the other QBs. It is not the car, it is the driver.
Yep the running game did suffer due to Pennington not handing off the ball, instead of throwing it more.
All I can say is thank gawd we have low expectations around here for decent quarterback play. It'll all work itself out. If Sancho sucks less in camp he'll start game one. If he starts sucking better, Geno or McElroy will come in to suck some more. That's how things go in Jetsville.
Favre did quit on the Jets. He's a supremely selfish player who had to do one year in football purgatory before he could go where he really wanted, and he lost interest in Jets football when he got hurt.
i still have a feeling the jets will be bringing someone else in before camp. whether it be a guy who is already in the free agent pile or someone who gets cut post june 1 even though THEY COULD GET CUT SOONER.
That is somewhat fair. More pass attempts can help a ranking and less rushing attempts can hurt a ranking. Would you agree that it is harder to have a higher average with the more attempts you have? In 2006, we averaged 6 yards per pass and 3.5 per rushing attempt. In 2009, we averaged 5.6 yards per pass attempt and 4.5 per rushing attempt. We attempted 95 more passes in 2006 and still had a higher average per pass attempt. We ran the ball 116 more times in 2009 and still had a full yard higher per carry average. The better your running game is, the easier it should be to throw the ball. Sanchez had much better running games than any of the other QBs who played under Schottenheimer, yet he was the worst ranked passer.
You guys need to look around the league and see what other QB has been to two AFCC games in the last four years...Sanchez will get scooped up ASAP if we cut him, some teams would kill to have a QB like Sanchez...Manning would suck with the receivers we had the last half of the year...I'm sick of the media dictating what happens here...Anonymous sources should be taken with a grain of salt
Man up girl. My point was about the QB functioning in the context of the OC. The OC sucks. Period. Ecen your. " passing offense " stats say so. You keepntrying to say.... Welllllll.... sanchez, in comparison to Favre, bradford,Penny ( curiously leaving out Clemens...I might add).... But THATS not the point. The point was what is sanchez being asked to function Under. Grow a pair and admit that your psychotic hatred of Sanchez makes you unable to admit that Schottenheimer has, for 7 years produced bottom feeder NFL offenses. Even with a HOF QB.
90% is high, but 20% your hypothesis is also way low. 20% of the players probably don't care either way and are just there for the paycheck. I could see a lot of guys, especially younger vets like Ferguson, Mangold, Holmes, Harris, Pace, etc really wanting a change. These guys have played the majority of their careers with Sanchez and have seen what poor QB play has done to this franchise... A lot of vets and friends being let go and that might not have been the case with a better QB play and more wins.... I bet the clubhouse is at least a majority in favor of making a change at QB. Can you imagine the guys on defense? They've been a top 10 unit and had lots of pressure on them with turnovers, short fields, getting put in to a hole points wise with Sanchezs turnovers for TDs.. They been playing great but not winning because of this and have seen a lot of their friends go because of this... That HAS GOT to be frustrating..
This thread is a joke. Why are you guys arguing with potentially Mark Sanchez's dad, siblings, friends from K-12, friends from college, or losers with Mark Sanchez's autographed poster hanging on their wall?? There will always be people who support Mark Sanchez unconditionally... however most won't see that they are supporting Mark Sanchez unconditionally. Anyone's point of view can easily be skewed to what they want to see. The End.
Of you posting anything remotely resembling intelligent. Yes, those that take a 2 time 4 playoff win QB , thats had exactly one losing season..,are misguided. While you otoh..who offers only personal atracks, because you prefer vinegar and water, are.,.the enlightened one. Thanks for clearing it up douchebag. The end.
It's so cute how you start calling names when you know you have been roasted. I've never said Schottenheimer was a great OC. You are trying to blame all of Mark's problems on Schottenheimer and bringing up total offense rankings as if that proves anything. If it was all Schottenheimer's fault, then we would see that no matter who was playing QB in his system. What we see is that every other QB that played in that system ranked higher than Sanchez ever has. I didn't leave out Clemens. He was included in the passing O ranking in 2007. Maybe Schottenheimer is comparable to a Hyundai in the Indy 500. That still does't excuse the driver from finishing worse than any of the other drivers that drove the same car. You are blaming the car, but it is clearly the driver. What is hilarious is how you talk up team accomplishments ^ in defense of Sanchez and bash Schottenheimer when he was the one running the O during that time. What exactly is a 2 time 4 playoff win QB? Wouldn't that mean he's won 8 playoff games?
90%? I'm calling BS. Half the team is desperate to make the team on Defense and when they take the field during OTA's and look over and see Sanchez under center they have to be thrilled....
