actually, I cant refrain. He was thre team's leading scorer amongst defensemen.

He had 3 pts less than Hagelin. Hagelin is a second line winger on this team unfortunately. So which is more productive from an offensive stand point---a forward with 24 pts or a Dman with 21??????

MDZ is physical-Hagelin might be the biggest pussy in the NHL

MDZ, regardless of what you think, prevents people from scoring goals against us as he is a top 4 Dman and was a + player.

Hagelin provides zero in the defensive department.

There is no sensible rationale that one could provide to show Hagelin is more useful to this team than MDZ is. And its not even close.

So lemme ask you, what does HAGELIN provide this team?

well, thats the trouble wiht the question in the first place. Dump or keep? It would certainly depend on circumstances.

Release Kreider----no, of course not. Trade Kreider with Miller and MDZ for Malkin? yeah of course ( no I dont think Pitt would make that trade)

I said I would trade anyone for the right deal....Cally, McD....anyone

oh and I forgot to mention MDZ eats up 20 minutes a night for us. You might like to point out every single mistake he makes, but hes out there for 20 minutes a night and we're pretty good defensively when you look at the numbers sooooooooooooooooooo...........

Why would we trust Sather to build anything close to a Cup contender?

the post lockout era (well, you know, the other one) has saved slats from himself......we've got a pretty good team on the ice for the last few seasons......I'll cut him some slack.

Name one player on this team who is incapable of "eating minutes".

Next thing you know, we are going to praise the guy for lacing his skates and breathing.

you kind of completely ignored the points part of the discussion ; )

this is why you say no one answers you on this topic, you choose to ignore certain parts of the answers...

Sorry. I didnt htink I had to spell it out. I under-estimated you inability to comprehend.

He plays 20 minutes.....we are a good defensive teram...he is a + player.....if he was as bad as you think he is, and he played 20 minutes every night, we would give up 5 goals a game and he would be a minus 11.....translation----he is giving us 20 solid minutes a night. Not everyone can play 20 minutes a night.....we're spoiled in that we have Giurardi and Staal who also do that....and McD!!!!!!

    Understand now?

I think you may not properly understand the concept of eating minutes. Some players are role players, in the team for a specific purpose. Ask them to operate outside of that purpose and carry the team's play, and they will be considerably less effective. They would not be players that you would consider to be capable of eating minutes, and you have many players like that because every team does.

Hank saved him. If we had a middle of the road goalie we wouldn't even be a playoff team.

With Torts not much, he plays better when physical and joins the rush, which Torts won't let him do, he's more suited for the 3rd pair, but roll 3 pairs not 2 1/2, his progression on the PP is disappointing
