bah, Rangers got this. They're going to keep home ice then beat Boston in Game 5 or 7. That second period yesterday was amazing on offense, I'm expecting to see more of the same but with tighter defense
This coming from a man who thinks the Michael Del Zotto actually contributes something to this team. Well, I can explain my desire to see him on the power play. The rangers are incapable of running anything remotely effective on the power play when they attempt to set-up in the offensive zone. They aimlessly pass the puck, which eihter results in a turnover along the boards, or a long shot with no screen right into the goaltender's chest. I suggested a power-play unit of Callahan-Nash-Kreider-Hagelin-and McDonagh. My logic is this: Callahan - General on the ice. Hope no further explenation is needed. Nash-Kreider-Hagelin: Since the Rangers are incapable of setting up in theofensive Zone, let's try an end-to-end rush to the net. Have McDonagh or Callahan hit a streaking skater in the Neutral zone, who picks up the puck with speed, and go to the net. No set up in the zone, just a pass to the player already streaking in, and an attempted finish. McDonagh - Defenseman in the ice in case pass is intercepted, or streak attempt is broken up. Can reset the play. . Shouldn't be an issue on the power play.
I actually like the Kreider-Richards-Asham fourth line. Since being paired with Richards, Asham is actually producing something.
dude, somewhere in this pile of shit, ( just kidding) you make a great point that Ive been telling evryone I know as well.............we OBVIOUSLY cannot set up a shitstain of a PP....why not just try to score on the rush. Its our only hope
I dont think its a terrible line but unfortunately, Bostons 4th line is as good as most 3rd lines so they have dominated our 4th line.
As soon as the Rangers get a head coach who realizes that you're actually allowed to move away from the walls and use the open ice, the power play, the transition game and entire offense will improve dramatically. Until then, it doesn't matter which five man unit you put out there. Brassard and Zuccarello are the only ones capable of still making plays in this ludicrous system, so they should probably be out there for the entire 2 minutes.
1st you lose the faceoff and they clear, then it takes 45 seconds to get back into the zone, perimeter passing for 40 seconds, they kill the penalty for the Bruins, one bad angle shot PP is over
A midget who can penalty kill and has no offensive game at all, or a 6'3" battering ram, who knocked Chara on his ass, who skates like the wind, and had 5 huge playoff goals for us last year...you choose
