he had some good and bad games. he wasn't awful, starting from that NE game through the end he was awful.
Austin Collie under Manning 60 and 58 receptions 2011 under Curtis Painter 54 receptions. Meachem the most balls he caught under Brees 45 Edeleman's best year 37 catches. Again average receivers are well average. Make any of them your number one receiver which none of the were then we can compare with what Sanchez had to deal with.
How the hell could Tebow affect him when he never even played? That was just a garbage nonsense excuse.
The weapons don't matter, nacho sucks either way. Year one and two are very comparable to years 3 and 4. Our team is held back due to inept qb play, been that way since nacho became a jet. He sucks worse than any jet qb before him, end of debate. He was on a Super Bowl calibur team for 2 seasons which gives him 4 road playoff wins and two conference championship loses.
Seattle? Don't ask me. Ask Sanchez. What's really irksome is his play after the contract extension. That was s'posed to soothe his irritated vagina.
The front office did in fact did Sanchez a disservice by not surrounding him with quality skill players and depth on the oline. It was understood that Sanchez was a raw QB coming out of college. With that said that excuse has to be thrown out the window. He's now a 5th year vet. Andy Dalton is what Sanchez should have been. You're not gonna find too many people that are gonna disagree with you about some of the players we had at WR. But to me that is a cop out. With that type of talent we don't make the playoffs but those players had nothing to do with Sanchez mental deficiency. He can't consistently hit his receivers in stride, can't read a defense, no pocket presence, lack of mobility, locks into a receiver too much. All that has nothing to do with Gates, Gilyard, J Hill etc. I don't think the new OC will make a big difference. The WCO is predicated on accuracy and quick decision making. Both areas Sanchez struggle with. Like I said Sanchez needs to go somewhere and be a backup to a vet QB and hope he can learn enough to eventually resurrect his career down the road.
Woody Johnson's Jets, truth, justice, and the American Way. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000204711/article/woody-johnson-ny-jets-about-the-american-way
The ignorance in these catch all statements in mind boggling. I remeber hearing the exact same arguments against Penny he does not hit receivers in stride he does not read defenses well all he does his throw pick 6's. Same old Same old arguments please come up with something better not catch all QB arguments with no contexts.
Lest get this straight there is a reason we brought in Garrard and it was not to compete for the starting job. We brought in Garrard to help Sanchez and now Geno. There was never any real Qb competition Sanchez was and is starting this season unless Geno turns out to be a prodigy. Why is that because of his contract no. The reason is MM put on the tape and saw Sanchez make young QB mistakes but also put in a no win situation. He saw enough on tape to think Sanchez can and will be successful. Because, as has been stated over and over Sanchez's problems are not accuracy or reading defenses or pocket presence it is turnovers. some are his fault no doubt especially the fumbles but their is also a lot not on Sanchez.
Marty Mornhinweg is actually the only 'legitimate' OC Sanchez ever had. (If he gets the starting nod, that is.) That is going to make a world of difference. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- That said, Sanchez not hitting the WR in stride and all that bullshit: Are you fucking retarded? Or blind? You had better be. Either you cannot see what's happening on the field, or you can't comprehend what's happening there. For instance, I've seen, from last year, a countless blitzes against Sanchez. In these situations, in good number of situations, Sanchez threw tight spiral to the hot route. The end result? The ball hit the WR in the BACK OF THE FUCKING HEAD. Not once. Not twice. More than enough. (Cumberland one comes off even without thinking.) If receivers are that much deficient mentally, just what makes you think they will be able to run the route competently, and gain separation? They didn't. Blame Sanchez for what he does wrong. This one is not on Sanchez. Ok? Can't read a defense? Sure. Maybe Sanchez is dumb as a doorknob, but you know what? Who do you think designs the protection schemes and primary defensive checks? Sanchez does, right? (There you go, moron.) I blame Sanchez for not throwing away in these situations, but not for his inability to read the defense correctly, depending on the situation and the play. It is more than likely that Sparano just can't get his head out of his ass to see what the defense would try to do. His protection schemes had epic fail written all over it. His play designs were jokes. And his play calling was equally atrocious, if not worse. That's all on Sanchez, right? Fucking morons. --------------------------------- Ok. I get it. I know Sanchez sucks, and I want him gone if he cannot improve to NFL standard. That said, blind hatred toward the kid is just maddening here. I would bear with it if it weren't so stupid. It's full blown retard level of stupidity. Jesus Christ.
They had to dumb down the offense to help Sanchez. QB for dummies was too much for him to digest. He had to have a color code chart , and he still fucked it up. He gets rattled in games, if they want true pictures of his play take off the red jersey in practice.
Where has this been stated, other than from only a handful of posters on a message board? And why wasnt Garrard a legit option to start? Just because it conflicts with your holy views on Sanchez? Garrard was brought in here as competition. He wasnt brought in to be another Brunell. If it wasnt for his knee, he could have won the competition between him and Sanchez. Im not sure how you could look at the drafting of Geno to back your view either, because it seems pretty conflicting. Im not sure if you've noticed, but this organization's MO now is competition. The Garrard move was no exception. Okay, so if you believe Sanchez is absolute garbage, then why? Because if its not his football intelligence and accuracy, then what is it? Those are his two biggest knocks. The "cant hit receivers in stride" card might be over played, but its more so calling out his poor accuracy. Because that is not bull shit. He has always been one of the least accurate QBs in the league, and its not just looking at last year. Being inaccurate can mean not placing the ball in the right spot for the receiver... As far as his decision making/ability to read a defense, it wasnt just last year. He's always been one of the most turnover prone QBs in the league. Whether it was Schotty or Sparano calling the plays. Even in his 1st and 2nd year they had colors to indicate the situation. He was kept on a pretty tight leash and once that leash was lengthened, his play declined. Now at the same time the talent around him declined, but he did not answer the calling as well as one would hope/expect. Now Im sure some of his failures were due to the system and coaching in place, but he definitely leaves the questions about his football intelligence and ability to read a defense wide open.
if geno smith can be as great as average we will be fine!....we were 6-10 with literally the worst qb in the league in sanchez! sanchez needs to sit the bench for the season...i think the run game with ivory (and hopefully we dont cut goodson) will help geno if he starts
I could probably copy and paste that quote and replace Sanchez with 'insert QB here' and Sparano with 'insert OC here', then it would be true for almost every situation... But seriously, I'm neutral about the whole QB competition. I just want the best man to win.
