I wouldnt get THAT crazy. But, I do think they will look for that one instance, to git hill over the top.
You're joking right? His best play from last season, was the pick on Johnsons out route. Revis has tremendous short area quickness, and knows how to use position to make up for speed mismatches. If you watch closely enough, Revis doesnt avoid contact, but its not how he makes his living.
Ive said this from the beginning of his injury, but Revis is so great because of his technique and instincts. A leg injury isnt going to change that. He's not an athletic freak like Patrick Peterson or even Cromartie, but he's great because of his football mind. Im not disagreeing with you, just adding onto what you said.
Another JAG....and I mean the writer. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000200131/article/ranking-the-nfl-quarterbacks
Every week for the past 2-3 seasons, some trolls from the oppsoing team would come onto TGG and say that their number 1 WR was going to burn Revis. It never happened, except once with Stevie Johnson. Lets not turn into those guys. Revis is the best in the biz, and he's going to be fired up for this game, and he also plays his best when he has a chip on his shoulder. Also, Rex is smart enough to avoid throwing to him (unless his ego gets in the way, which I guess is very likely now that I think about it)
What do you mean? I said he doesn't only rely on his speed, but his physical strength against opponents. Having great speed doesn't mean that you will never get burned. Revis uses minimal contact in a legal fashion in order to be closer to a receiver. Something that is unique and brilliant. Having great speed won't necessarily save you from a receiver that has great route running ability and speed. If you have a corner that can slow down a receiver at the line of scrimmage, then the corner will win all the time.
@alleycat we all want him gone but Garrard retiring threw a monkey wrench into a plans of cutting Sanchez. He'll probably be there on opening day but hopefully as a backup.
i agree garrard really messed things up in my plan. i have to think though that if the jets were going to get rid of him that they will still find a way to do it. i am waiting to see what they do but i am still confident that we will not see him in the first preseason game as a jet.
