What makes you think the reason that we had a good 09 and 10 was all Rex? Sure it wasn't Mangini's team? The last 2 seasons have been a disaster, both years the offense has shit the bed, and now we have another O coordinator this year. As for being a bad fan, I have been a season ticket holder since 96. I support the team by spending my money to watching the team at all home games, and on TV for away games. The only reason I want them to loose is because with Rex as our coach our best days are behind us. He is a glorified D coordinator, that's it. We have been trending downward ever since the 10 AFCCG. What he let happen to us last year in Tenn, with the O sputtering the whole game was contemptible. The trend with Rex has been going in the wrong direction for 2 years going on 3. How long will it take for people here to realize that he is not the answer?
We shall see super fan, I'm sure your job is not splitting Atoms on the weekend. GFY 7 wins tops! Maybe Rex can ruin Geno Smith like be did Sanchez buy sending him to the wolves, and not devolping him or the offense.
Tannenbaum is responsible for our trend downwards with our lack of talent. That is why Tannenbaum is no longer here. It's a simple concept.
I'm not saying you are wrong but I know for a fact there are respectable members of this forum who wanted to crown Tannenbaum as the best GM in the league after that offseason in which Santonio was acquired for a 5th rounder and you guys signed LT and Gayson Taylor. Let's let history sort this one out.
Some people here seem to think we can win eleven and take the division. Based on that anything is possible when it comes to people's expectations (fantasies?).
Rex did Geno are great service by hiring Mornhinweg Rex will run the D Marty will run the O What more can you ask for The only thing aside from that is Rex decides to go for it on 4th and any other strategical decisions
Tanny killed the cap Traded more picks than he used since 2009 Cut more players we drafted than kept Gave Sanchez that extension that did us in
Exactly, give Tanny his due He got us to two title games with a roster that was not built for continuity. What he did in 2011 and 2012 was downrite putrid, but it started with the poor drafting of 2009 and 2010.
Here's the line as set by Cantor Gaming for the year: 1-Tampa Bay -1.5 @ Jets 2-New England -8 vs Jets 3- Buffalo @ Jets -3.5 4- Jets -1 @ Tennessee 5-Jets @ Atlanta -7 6- Pittsburg -1.5 @ jets 7- New England -4 @ Jets 8- Jets @ Cincinnati -4.5 9- New Orleans -1.5 @ Jets 10- bye week 11- Jets @ Buffalo -1.5 12- Jets @ Baltimore -6 13- Miami 2 Jets -1 14- Oakland @ Jets -6 15- Jets @ Carolina -3 16- Cleveland @ Jets -3 The Jets are underdogs 10 time in this listing. They are listed as 25 to 1 to win the Division. This might help some of you figure out the yearly win total vs the "experts" Hahahah
Great thought. Except there is only one blue chip QB in next year's draft and that is Bridgewater, if he comes out. A team will need the first or second pick to get him. Other than that, there are no other blue chip QBs. The rest of the QBs are similar to this year's group - late first round- second round and later. Good plan though. Let's base the season on next year's draft without knowing who is available, how good they will be after another college season, and who will actually be available when the Jets pick.
I've never been a fan of waiting a year for a QB, especially when a good one is starring at you in the second round. I'm glad we got Geno because next years draft is still a question mark. You don't know what QBs are going to impress next year.
People that want us to have a bad season, draft 1-6 no less, are simply insane. Are you people seriously thinking that drafting a player within the first 1-10 next year is a guarantee to success. And all this love for the QB class next year will fizzle out like this year. There is one blue chip QB and he will go 1-3. I for one would not give a shit if we draft last in the first round. I welcome it. I want the Jets to win, win, win. One more thing, the BS about "will be lucky to win 4 games with Sanchez" is also unfounded, since he won more than 6 every single year, even with his worst performance and inept offensive players and coaches last year. Jets will win 9 games and improve thru the draft again in 2014. What it takes is savvy drafting, not owning the first pick.
I will refrain from projecting wins and losses until OTA's, TC and the Pre-Season but I know we'll be competitive because we have the best defensive coach in the league running our D and one of the best offensive minds in the game running our O and a GM who's proving to be a great hire
