I like Moringweg " We're going to play to our player strengths , the QB will have the responsibility to get it to our best players and our dynamic players quite a lot , We will use all available RBs and WRs "
I like Rex and I'll probably get crucified for saying this, but, at this point, I believe nothing Rex says. I am pulling for Rogers tho. I just wanna see it with my own eyes. I'm glad Rex took notice.
Yes, hopefully hell join Tupa, and O'Brien as the best Jets playexrs to wear 7. The rest of e list are scrubs, and Yes, Boomer...that includes you.
Good to hear Rogers looks good, and that Geno was pretty good as well. Albeit, I take these early reports with a large serving of salt, because last year all I heard was how Sanchez looked more poised and with better arm strength, and we saw how that turned out. Or how Hill was burning Revis as well. I just hope we make it out without any major injuries and Geno and the rookies can get familiarized to the system.
Funny how the whole Sanchez thing went down. He had a great training camp and tore it up against the Bill on day 1, and continued it into the Steelers game until that one illegal hit that completely leveled him. After that, Sanchez was never the same. It seems like Sanchez is just weak and lets big hits take him out of games.. or months worth of games. He's soft. Go Geno!
He didn't look good in the pre-season at all, if I recall correctly. But then all we heard was how Sporano was saving the good play calls for the regular season and was going extremely vanilla in the preseason. I think our only TD or something in the preseason was with the backup. He looked really good, spread the ball out extremely well in the Bills game. But he wasn't without fault though. The long Hill TD was clearly underthrown, because Hill had like 5 yards on the guy, but had to come back. He had one interception (where he tried to flip it to the TE that was barely called back) as well. But he looked better. I think he got concussed on that hit possibly. But I think it played more into what he is as a QB. He can play well when other parts of the team can play great. In the Bills game, I believe the running game was good, and the defense was great. So the Bills were on their heels the entire game, trying to play catchup. Once he got to the Steelers, and the rushing and defense weren't above average, he couldn't elevate his game. He kept going back to Holmes over and over and over again, was ridiculous. You could tell each pass was going to be a slant route to Holmes (which is also why I'm sure Holmes is preaching Sanchez as the QB to start, because he knows he'll get the ball then more often, even if it's a detriment tot he team).
Some video of Training today http://www.nfl.com/videos/new-york-jets/0ap2000000168595/Geno-I-don-t-pay-attention-to-critics
Good video. Smith handled that well. The media are like sharks, just swimming around him waiting for him to say something that will let them attack relentlessly.
He didn't look good in preseason but we can't discount he went right down the field against Pittsburgh on the 1st drive, I think got us a FG on the next and then he took the illegal hit and after that he was done. Underthrows, bad decisions and just pretty much everything else we saw the rest of the season.
