Only Euros and pussies wear visors, apparently.

In other news, Montreal will be without Price, Gionta, Prust and White tonight. Time to put our foot on their throat and finish them.

Ask Marc Staal or Fraser's opinion now, too late unfortunately

I think it's crazy to play without a visor.

Look at what happened to Bryan Berard. Or Marc Staal. Or a dozen other players.

I guess today's players think "it won't happen to me" and listen to people like Don Cherry.

I guess many of these guys wouldn't wear helmets because "it's for pussies" if the league didn't mandate the helmet back in 1979.

The NHL also has a penalty for players who wear visors and start a fight.

Check out this article, which includes a quote from Fraser:

Yep, visors should definitely be mandatory. Guys that play without them claim they are "too used to no visor", or that it impedes their vision. Obviously not enough to justify potentially losing your vision altogether though.

Then there's current Oilers GM Craig MacTavish who played his whole career without a fuckin HELMET. This good judgment is now in my front office.

The penalty for instigating with a visor is irrelevant, most players wear their helmet loose enough to instantly lose it if they want to drop the gloves and frankly, the difference between 17 and 19 minutes is somewhat irrelevant. And anyway, that rule would become redundant if everyone wore visors.

    But onto more important things:

OLE, OLE OLE OLE, OLE, OLE...........

Really want the Isles to take them to seven now and make sure that the Pens have no break. Even better, I'd like the Isles to beat them but I can't see Pitt losing games 6 and 7.

There are teams I'd rather play than Pittsburgh, but I think we can give them a battle in a seven game series. Andy was once again in imperious form last night, our smurf line with Pageau and Conacher gets better by the game, and if we switch out Kassian for Latendresse I think we have a genuine four lines, even if it isn't quite to the standard of Pittsburgh's. I think we're tougher than them and we can cause them some serious problems, but I would give my right ball for a healthy Spezza right now.

Andersen should of won the Vezina, Fleury belongs in a roller hockey league, Voukon is a little better than Flurrie, drawn your own conclusions

Looks like the Leafs get knocked out tonight. Oh well, at least they made the playoffs (finally!) and even got a win.

Absolutly Andersen is the true Vezina winner. Someone forgot to tell Mario Lemuix when he was stacking his team, to get a good goalie

I knew Montreal was the best matchup in round 1 for the bottom seeds (was hoping the Rangers finished 7th at season's end). Sens played great, but the Habs sucked down the stretch and right into the playoffs.....plus the injuries.....

just saying Fraser used that rule as his reasoning for no longer wearing a visor

Anderson missed too many games to be considered for the Vezina, but there's no doubt that he has been the best goalie in the league this season. He's also helped by the defence in front of him though, it's stacked with talent now.

tcrock, I'd have happily taken Washington ahead of Montreal, we've had their number all season. Saying that "Montreal was the best matchup in round 1 for the bottom seeds" makes no sense, different teams play different games and match up differently - I reckon Montreal would have buried Toronto, but Toronto would probably get past Ottawa pretty easily, who in turn just smoked Montreal. I'd happily see the Sens take on Washington or the Rangers.

all about momentum though, Washington was red hot, Montreal sucked and were giving up a lot of goals.......yes I hear ya about matchups, but I said it at the conclusion of the season and I stick by it now.....I knew Montreal was going down in round 1 regardless of who they played. The Rangers hadn't scored a goal against Price in like forever in Montreal, but I was still hoping for that matchup, even though on paper, it wasn't a good one.

......not taking anything away from your beloved Sens, so don't be all sensitive about it........beating them down 4-1 was impressive nonetheless.
