We need Staal for everything he brings on the ice: Offensively and Defensively. He is the best all-around player on this team.
I'm just worried Staal is damaged goods. Apparently he lost vision in that eye somewhat, that's bad for a defenseman. Do I still want him out there? Yeah. But I'm hesitant to believe we'll ever see the same Staal again.
It's so early to say anything about the long-term effects of the injury. It's ambitious that he even thought about playing out there already. Aside from the physical limitations it presents, I don't care how tough you are, he has to be at least a little jumpy out there. It would be unnatural if he wasn't.
brass balls brassard. studhorse. super hero. god damnit he's been paying off from his inception here.
I live in Columbus (I'm a Ranger fan) and have followed Brassard's career. He had many injuries to slow his development. He is one of the best skaters in the NHL, and has great vision to feed the puck to his teammates. Still young and should continue to get even better. Columbus made a big mistake letting him go. Nash on the other hand, I've always questioned his passion for the game. Talented player that something in his head isn't right.
I've made it clear: I would rather lose this series against the Caps than win it and lose Staal for his career. I just wanted to make it clear that Staal brings a lot more to the ice than just his defensive skill.
i've caught many blue jacket games on the tube, i have always thought their fans are very loud. good crowd over there.
Good loyal fan base with a losing team over the past decade. CBJ's are a team on the rise, you'll see a lot more them since they moved to the Eastern conference. JD has changed the culture. BTW, Nationwide Arena is one of the best in the NHL.
You have to ask yourself (as a Caps fan) after watching the game winners from Game 3 and Game 4, do the Rangers want it more? The lack of effort is pathetic. Interesting that Holtby criticized the team before Game 3 about lack of effort in practice. He was right.
ancient history.......you would propose messing with the offensive flow right now? who are you sitting? They're in a little groove.......if we get Nash to wake the fuck up, watch out
exactly, the Caps might have relaxed a little with a 2 game lead & the Rangers stepped it up with must wins, I'm sure they'll (Caps) be playing much harder & with more urgency tomorrow night. is it me or is this series pretty tame physically? not sure that bodes well for either team regardless who advances............althouh the Rangers did hit more last night.
Gotta disagree with you here, Matt. Not if it means he coudl get hurt worse. What if his periferal vision was off and he got demolished by a clean shoulder check?
Ok, now that is a good point, and I agree with you. All I am saying is that things can turn on a dime, that's all.
