^Sanchez has an effect on both offense and special teams therefore is the more valuable asset.

He leads the league in coffin-corner interceptions.

They already half assed ruined one QB by throwing him in early, and then not having the pieces in place to support him.

Russell Wilson walked into a better situation, than where the Jets are offensively right now.

    Tannehill? Youre joking right?

Talk about falling into the hype. Won 7, completed 58%, tossed 12 TDs. 13 picks.

And didnt have half the offensive setbacks the Jetshad last year.

The argument is also invalid, because its coommon knowledge Tannehill was not supposed to start on opening day, China doll Davey was.

ohh so NE didn't score any offensive pts? I guess that 7 play TD drive to put them up 14-7 was a mirage.

b/c we called a dumb TO that means the D should allow an offense to go 80 yds in a minute? is there anything you won't blame Sanchez for?

The proof is in the games, show me a time when NE needed to score that they didn't again us in the last 5 reg season meetings? To act like it's a lock we score and a lock NE wouldn't score is asinine. It's just not logical.

You may read but you clearly don't absorb the info.

Ryan's INt was on 3rd and 21 from the GN 26, they were already in very makeable FG range w/ very little chance to get a 1st down and not only did it cost them points but GB took over at the TWENTY. Brady took over at the TWO. See any difference?

you think a 54 yd FG outdoors and a 44 yd FG in a dome are the same thing? That tells us a lot about what you know about this game.

those guys were a million times better than the healthy weapons mark had PLUS you had a run game for much of the year and RBs that could catch the ball out of the backfield and still tannehill couldn't even get Miami in the playoff race.

why would a team trade for a guy who would be a backup and pay him starter money plus give up picks?

he really won 6 as he had no effect on their win over us.

I think Tannehill can be a good QB, I think he did a good job for a rookie and I think Miami is doing it the right way by surrounding him w/ weapons. It's what we did w/ Mark early on and we won but give Tannheill the weapons we had last year and he has a worse season than mark and last I checked Tannehill as a rookie didn't even get Miami in the playoff race let alone win 2 road postseason games. I know it was all our defense but Miami's D was pretty good last year, top 10 in pts allowed yet they weren't in the race late in the year.

The Dolphins had much better coaching on the offensive side of the football. With all the Jets injuries and Sparano trying to solve the Rubix cube, it's no surprise Tannehill had a better year.

Quite honestly, at the moment, I would take Tannehill over any of the quarterbacks on our roster. He's got poise under pressure, a fair amount of accuracy, excellent mobility, and he almost throws better on the run than in the pocket.

That's not to say that he will end up as a great quarterback, but he is an intriguing prospect.

That said, I will be forced to Tannehill Suxxxxxx the moment some brainless idiot Phins troll shows up on this forum.

Totally disagree about Bess being a JAG, though.

I wouldnt. You know what the real difference last year between Tannehill, and Sanchez is...,the Phins thre the ball to someone out of the backfield 3 times as often as the Jets did.

And ....fwiw..in addition, the Jets third leading reciever. Was Keller...a guy that missed 8 games.

The dropoff after Keller,Holmes, cumberland,Kerley, and Hill is nauseating.

Go to pro football reference, and look at last years stats.

    Winning 6....was a fucking miracle.

And, to go one step further, if you want to see just how inept Sparano really was..,compare the Jets 2011 recieving stats for backfield players, to 2012.

Yeah... with Sanchez, it was a fucking miracle. I'm totally surprised that you wouldn't take Tannehill over Sanchez. Shocked, actually.

There are some facts about Sanchez' tenure here that have held him back. He lost weapons. Flux in offensive scheme. Questionable offensive coordinators.

But he has failed to become a better passer after four years. He still throws high passes across the middle like he did as a rookie. He still struggles to time screen passes, as badly ass he did as a rookie. When he takes too many hits during a season, he makes bad decisions and is off target, likely because of that untreated stinger on the side of his neck that his throwing arm resides.

He has not improved at all, barring one or two performances in the past two seasons.

He was an intriguing prospect in his own right at one point. He isn't anymore.

I don't need to look at stats to figure that out. I watch the games.

Heres the point for me, and theres no really getting around it...2012, was a total organizational pooch screw...but even then,..there were moments, that did show a marked improvement over his QB shortcomings, especially in terms of putting the ball on guys....especially in the St Louis game...after he got Mauled early.

    But...given that...even throwing 2012 out...

2011 should have been a better year, but all in all..he did progress from 2010,but not as much as was expected.
Weighed against his ability to make plays...his lack of a decent system, and lastly, the fact that his first three years have been litttered with skill position retreads, (edwards, plax,LT) there has never been an opportunity to be a cohesive unit.

Now, youve got Hill,Kerley, maybe McKnight, and an OC that actually knows how to use players..the guys body of work and the teams investment in Him...mandates taking the test lap.

As ive pointed out, steve young, had qood college career, played a couple years of pro football, in the USFL, then went to tampon bay, and they didnt want him. Then he sat on the bench under walsh, and where did he wind up?

Right coach, right Scheme. It matters.

Surely you agree that given Sanchez's rookie numbers as was, he doesn't make the playoffs in 09 with the 21st ranked defense instead of the 1st, the 17th ranked rush attack as opposed to the 1st, and a slightly below average pass pro instead of arguably the best in the game.

Dude its not the interceptions are a problem...Its Sanchez's prime ability to make a turnover in the red zone. Thats where it has killed us the most

they were 7th in points allowed and rookie sanchez had a couple of stinkers which skewed his #s but overall had a good rookie year.

You just look at black and white #s, Miami's D was pretty good last year, their run game was good most of the year. We ran it much more so our rush yardage was much higher. we ran 167 more times.

Let's also not forget we were 3-1 when Chansi Stuckey was a starting WR for us and our ground game wasn't great for those 3 wins.

Surely you agree, that given the Jets offense last year, Tannehill is lucky to win 3 games.

Its funny how you can defend Sanchez, and then in the same breath, spew out nothing but stats in order to make an argument against Tannehill. Obviously you didnt watch many Miami games. He was grea by any means, but he definitely showed some promise, especially considering the "supporting" cast around him.

What does it matter that Tannehill wasnt supposed to start? Garrard got hurt, and Tannehill won the job after that. He played well enough to warrant the starting job for a rookie in his situation.

Its no surprise that a rookie who was a WR in college 2 or 3 years prior outplayed a 4th year starter? When you look at it on paper, there's no way in hell anyone expected someone in Sanchez's position to get outplayed by Tannehill. But he did... and it just goes to show even further how much Sanchez sucks.

His cast wasn't bad, not great but far from bad. He showed flashes but he also cost his team the game against us and if not for a very questionable call vs. Seattle would have thrown a game ending INT against them.

He would have won 3-4 games w/ him starting for us last year.

also remember he played in the same system w/ the same coach he had in college so that was a huge advantage for him.

I think he has ability and could be a good starting QB in this league though.

Having a pretty good defense is not the same as having the best defense... or the #1 rushing attack and offensive line and one of the best special teams. I mean Tannehill had Jonthan Martin as a RT... He actually made Wayne Hunter look solid.

the situations were completely different and he greatly improved his #s late when the team was out of the race throwing 5 TDs to 1 INT in basically meaningless games. He never had any playoff pressure to deal with or pressure to win like Sanchez had day 1 and he had MUCH better weapons a year ago than Sanchez had.

the best defense that blew 3 late leads and a double digit lead in the title game. Our D was very good, it was not great despite what the rankings say. It was better than Miami's last year but it was not a great defense.

Miami's OL played just fine and their run game was good, they allowed Tannehill to throw more which is a big reason why they won less.
