so many people talk about how if we only had a decent quarterback we would have won more games last season

how he cant even read basic coverages (i wonder where this new one came from...)

    blah blah blah

everybody wants to complain about quarterback play last season. nothing worked last season except for that one misdirection play that sparano called way too many times but for some reason was just about always good for 6-8 yards at least.

seriously though name me one good thing about last seasons offense and ill consider taking criticism that singles out marks play seriously

it was a clusterfuck of suck last season. nothing worked short of the first game of the season. but that was literally all sparano had. he showed it all that one week.

BeastBeach is not a troll. Just because he has a different opinion than you does not make him a troll.

to be fair i have thought sanchez sucked since he got here.

there were a few days i thought i might end up being incorrect during the 2010 season. he showed a bit of toughness... however they were only a few days and the jury has come back.

    sanchez sucks

We found out that Kerley is a solid player. He can play both inside and outside and be effective. He's not great, but a solid #2 for now, and a very good slot guy when Hill can step up to the #2 duties.

We found out that Howard can play RT for us and can definitely improve. He got better as the season went on, and was definitely an upgrade from Hunter (not hard, yes). He's going back to the system he cam from and he should improve even more. If things pan out, we could have our RT for the next 5 years.

Brick and Mangold are back to form and healthy and should continue to be core pieces to this team.

Yes we sucked on offense, but no matter who is playing besides Mark, he has to at least resist the downward trend. He didnt. He added onto the shittyness. If he did not turn the ball over as much, yes we do in fact win more games. Even if we had Alex Smith, who isnt great but wont turn the ballover 25 times a year, we probably dont have a losing record. We definitely win the Titans game with less turnovers from the QB. The Seahawks game might actually be a game. The Bills game would be much closer without that pick 6. The SD game, we have more of a chance with an actual NFL starter.

I dont think its too crazy to believe that if we had even 5 less turnovers from the QB position (which isnt asking them to be even in the top 25), we could have had a better season.

With a top 5 RB we also probably win another game or two. With a better receiving group, we win another game or two. Thats definitely true, no doubt. But the QB position is the one in the spotlight. He's getting paid as a top 10 QB, people expect better play from him, especially in year 4.

    where did I mention stats?

Our talent level was good but nothing like Flacco had last year, Eli has, peyton has always had, Rodgers has, etc...

if we stay healthy we will have much better weapons to throw the ball to this year. will he have a chance to work with those guys? we'll see. he'll get another chance at some point whether here or somewhere else and he'll have a very short leash to re-establish himself as a quality QB.

I agree w/ you, if he's the opening day starter and he's playing like 2012 he should be replaced.

I apologize, all of you guys tend to blend together after a while.

I think most hate him, I think most would rather lose w/o him than win w/ him. Those are the ones I have a problem w/. Your post here is very fair but most don't feel that way.

he has more total TDs in a single season than any QB in Jets history, he also has double the playoff wins over the next guy.

Most QBs have bad body language when they make a mistake.

I think we read too much into body language.

The original discussion was about "wide open" Stephen Hill.

He made a terrible decision and throw, I am not defending that. What I am saying is that play did not kill us and in the end may have actually helped us. That doesn't mean it's ok to make that mistake but it didn't hurt us.

Even if we convert the first down to the receiver in the flat there were 7 mins left in the half. Chances are we'd settle for a FG and NE would have much better FP and plenty of time to score a TD and at the very least get a FG.

This is where reading comes into play, show me where I ever said turning it over was a good thing? I said not all Tos are equal, some are much worse than others. Some don't wind up hurting as at all and others kill us.

Your arguments have been pathetic the entire time and now, as most do, you resort to making things up to TRY to make your weak arguments look better.

don't worry, as soon as Mark is gone we will find another scapegoat. I have been here since 2001 and in that time our scapegoats have been:

    Vinny Testaverde
    Paul Hackett
    Justin McCareins
    Chad Pennington
    Brian Schottenheimer
    Herm Edwards
    Mark Sanchez

Lets be honest though, All of those "scapegoats" could've avoided taking heat if they were any good.

It's not as if you are listing some of the best players/coaches in NFL or even Jets history. Outside of a couple years with Testaverde and Pennington, that list is filled with mediocrity and in some cases (McCariens, Sanchez, Hackett) - crap.

Jets fans have been a pretty good judge - they weren't giving Vinny crap after 98 or Pennington crap after 2002... just giving heat where it's due. Can we ever criticize with you? or do we have to accept mediocrity like you do?

Justin McCariens, are you fucking kidding me - that guy was a huge disappointment. Yet you defended him. You are really going to sit here and say it was wrong for Jets fans to want to get rid of him at the time?

Vinny had the greatest single season in franchise history and helped us win 10 games and make the playoffs in 2001.

I hated Hackett but we did make 3 postseasons in 4 years w/ him running our Os.

McCareins had a good 2004 then struggled but he was he why we were losing in 2005?

Chad led us to 3 postseasons, more than any QB in franchise history.

Brian was OC for 3 postseasons and 4 postseason wins

Herm took a job nobody wanted and inherited a team that reached 1 postseason in 9 years and led us to 3 in his first 4 years.

Sanchez helped us nearly reach 2 SBs, has double the amount of postseason wins over the next Jets QB and he's only played 4 years for us.

I am not saying those guys didn't deserve criticism at various points as all of them did(every player/coach/exec does at some point) but they didn't deserve the long term venom they got/are getting from the fans.

Only an average fan would look at that list and not realize the team had success in spite of those bums other than Chad and Vinny

He was present! He must have helped us!

yep, all of our success came in spite of those players/coaches. It's amazing how we have made so many postseasons and won a bunch of playoff games w/ the crap we have had. I guess Woody's voodoo dolls have worked at times.

i must say those are great leaders of men!! let me throw one extra one in there!!!

joe b said it best about spermy edwards, leader? herm couldnt lead a group of men into a hot tub filled with beautiful women, thats what kind of leader he is.

not only did herm suck here and completely waste a pretty talented roster, he then moved on to kc where he took a perennial playoff team and drove them into the ground before getting shit canned.

mccariens, thats funny... avg fan stuff going on over here

paul hackett... jeez this guy couldnt even win at usc

you forgot ted cottrell, he was herms scapegoat first

i think it might be nursing... get them pumped up on meds and head back to the nurses station for some sancho talk.

coming soon to a theater near you our feature event of the thread... no mo sancho
