That was a bizarre PP by Washington. I didn't see most of the game (I was watching Toronto get stuffed at home, which was fun) but from the little I did see Stepan looked really good again. I like that guy a lot.
Sure it was. Granted Ovechkin was bent down, but the stick was somewhere up near his chin and while it might not have been a particularly dangerous play, it was an unnecessary and lazy move by Richards.

It tapped him on the chin/face. Definitely not the force to send Ovy to the ground or snap his head back. Definitely should have been called for a penalty on Richards, but I feel like Ovy deserved 2 in my biased view.
Nothing's going to change as far as puck possession goes. In the post-lockout game, Tortorella's system makes him the worst defensive breakout coach in the league, and he absolutely refuses to address that. That will once again be the downfall of this team. Be nice if they can just win the home games and play a tough 7 game series. That's all I really hope for at this point.
I entirely agree that Ovie could have been called for embellishing, but it doesn't make it less of a penalty on Richards.
Unbelievable...whats even funnier is you have me KILLING Boyle....Jonnny asking where is Brassard....MR on Nash....me killing Pyatt (who still screened Hank on a goal but got an assist) And you want to know what? F all of them. Sorry..its one game. I want to see Boyle do that again..drive his big lumbering body to the net. Brassard is a playmaker like Richards was at one time....I want to see him setting people up because with all the crap about Holtby in goal..he can be had. Great stat....Caps have been 2-0 nine times and are only 4-5 in those series..so lets just win Wednesday night. Hockey is funny...you never know what game or shift it is that puts you on a run...so lets see Wednesday night baby. EDIT: Just in case anyone thought I meant Brassard is a play maker like Richards used to be not the case...Brassard needs to be Richards in the series because Richards sure has hell cant.

Okay, I will comment about the game. haha. I am pissed. Good effort by the Caps, but not good enough. The penalties were obviously out of control, ending 6-3 I believe, but that last 2 minutes was terrible by the Caps. Shoot the puck! Ribeiro did his taxes and ordered a pizza instead of shooting. It was sick. Especially for a 6 on 4.
Oh..one more thing....shockingly, Dorsett has been pretty damn solid and a good guy to have on the ice.
