What do you mean "oh shit"? We were garbage for the first two periods but been dominant in the third.
I mean they got fucking lucky with that bounce of that player's skate and then Conacher tied it with 20 seconds...OH SHIT!
Yeah, if I were a Habs fan I might have been a little pissed with them not calling that a kicking motion for the first goal. Let's call it evens for the fact that probably their most effective forward tonight should have been in the press box as a result of his elbow last game, eh? The second was all Montreal's fault, they'd been inviting pressure all through the third and they deserved to concede.
It was a horrible goal for Budaj to give up, but you have to hold the entire Habs team responsible for thinking they had it won at the end of the second. They played a completely different game in the third and you don't have to watch a lot of tape on the Sens to know that they're a sixty minute team. Karlsson was pretty poor in the first two periods and Price was excellent. Subban started superbly and then lost his head completely. That guy is simultaneously Montreal's biggest asset and biggest problem. If I were their GM I'd trade him this summer, because I don't think they're going to figure him out and he's not going to get better in Montreal. I actually don't think he's going to get better anywhere because he's fucked in the head, but he's young enough that someone else will give up a lot for his talent because they'll think they can fix him.
I took the Canucks in 6. EliTheGiant took the Sharks in a sweep. I laughed at him and said he was crazy. I guess I suck.
Sharks dove all fuckin night, this series was basically the opposite of the '11 series. Goodbye you pieces of shit!
Fleury and Price are quite similar, they can be outstanding at times but they're equally as capable of being awful and it seems to vary from game to game without any rhyme or reason. Budaj is just your run of the mill backup goalie. He's serviceable as a #2 to spell the #1 during the regular season in selected games, but if you're leaning on him in the post season then you have a problem. Shit happens, players get injured; it's unfortunate for Montreal as Price had been playing quite well, and I doubt he'd have given up that OT goal. They didn't lose because of goaltending though, and nor despite what the Montreal coach, fans and media would have you believe did they lose because of refereeing decisions. They lost because they backed off in the third period and tried to defend what they had, which is not a good idea against Ottawa; good teams know when and how to put their foot on the other team's throat and finish them. So far in this series the third period scoring is 9-0 to Ottawa, so they can whine all they like about refs. You don't win games in the first two periods.
Fleury played one of the worst games I have ever seen an NHL goaltender play..at least since his performances against the Flyers last year...
Fleury has been bad, but I feel like the Pens have more issues than him. They should be playing much better with that talent.
