We lost the game because Sanchez gave away at least three points and actually gave away 2 with that stupid safety.

I'm not changing my mind. Once he realized the ball was in the endzone, he made an obvious decision that most smart quarterbacks should make. That doesn't mean he should be in the position to get safeties in the first place. He should have had SOME sort of awareness to see that Vince Wilfork was coming at him and throw the ball into the dirt or something.

    It's really very simple.

Are we arguing that Sanchez lost that first Pats game? You are kidding right?

He brought the team back gave the defense the lead but they had Tom Brady and tied the game. He fumbled in overtime trying to avoid a sack. There are plenty of other games to get on Sanchez about not that game.

That fumble was not needed at all. It was third down when it happened. I'd much rather him take a sack than fumble in overtime.

As for that game in general, it was one of his...better ones. But it's naive to say that he didn't have a hand in losing it.

how was he to blame for that play?

we don't get to OT w/o him.

It is Naive to say he was the reason we lost he had the game won without a dropped pass. What more can you ask from your QB against the Pats?

He should have taken a sack but in all likely hood the Pats get the ball and score we could not stop them. Sure the fumble ended any chance to win and he should have taken the sack but he was not the reason they lost.

On one hand Mark is the worst QB ever on the other hand he is supposed to be to perform like a hall of famer? Your expectations are to high for QB play he played like he should have played that game and the Jets had a chance to win. He plays that way against AZ and the Titans the jets may go to the playoffs.

The media and fans jumped on the kid so bad after the "butt fumble" he cracked. It is yet to be determined if he is done yet.

ArmandJ you are great example. You are embarrassed because your friends harassed you about Sanchez. They probably watched the one Jets game and have really no idea if Sanchez was good or bad just went by what the media says.

If Sanchez does not fumble that ball the jets win at least two more games and we do not have a QB issue. Instead Sanchez crumbles under the media pressure and the fans pile on. Great fans

if a qb is good there doesn't need to be 7500+ posts arguing if he is good or not.

    thats all i am saying

He was the reason we lost at the very end of the game as his fumble ended any and all chances of winning. There were many factors that went into us losing. Sanchez didn't actively lose this game like many others, but he sure didn't do much otherworldly to prevent a loss.

My expectations for Mark (or any other quarterback on the Jets) is that they perform on an average level. The defense was above average last year. Average quarterback play gets us to the playoffs. Hell, below average QB play may have gotten us 8 wins. We had terrible QB play.

I actually gave him a chance after the buttfumble play considering the entire team shat on themselves that game. It was after the Arizona game, and DEFINITELY after the Tennessee game that I became done with him. To have 7 interceptions to 2 touchdowns in games against opponents like that is absolutely pitiful.

As for my friends, they've watched a fair share of Jets games and know it's obvious that Sanchez is a terrible quarterback. I don't want him on my team, because frankly, he sucks.

If Sanchez can't handle media pressure, boo hoo for him. He's a quarterback in the NFL in a high profile city. He needs to learn to tough it up and move on. Stop making excuses for him. He's terrible. His ceiling is barely mediocre. If we start him, we're competing for a top 5 draft pick. He's just that bad.

Why? We stopped them 6 times, gave up a safety and two FGs on three other occasions. Why are you and junc so sure we couldn't stop them if he didn't fuck up?

Because they went through us like we were not on the field to tie the game. If we stopped them the game was over no need for overtime we were winning.

After that sack the Pats get great field position. We do not convert a 3rd and 15.

You see it is not your team it is Woody Johnson's team we are just fans. It is fair to say We need better Qb play but I don't want that guy on my team is just ignorant. You are not a football coach and analyst or any way affiliated with Jets.

Please tell me what games we win last year with another QB besides the Titans game.

You guys arguing about the overtime sack / fumble, correct??
There was no field position. The Pats had already scored a FG in OT.
We needed to kick a FG to keep the game going.
Sack ... Fumble ... NE recovers ... Game over ... They grab the ball and keep running into the locker room.

So what? They also had a 104 yard KO return..look at how they scored their points and only a fool would think we had no chance of stopping them.

The 49ers traded their 2nd and 4th for Young who only started a total of 19 games for Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay was a horrible team unlike the Jets, Young only started for them 1 year and Bill Walsh traded 2 picks to get him when he had a great QB on his team.

MM had one opportunity to actually draft a QB for his team when he was a head coach and he drafted Joey Harrington.

MM is not exactly a Mensa member when it comes to evaluating and developing NFL QB's.

like we did when NE got it at their 21 needing to hold them from scoring any pts to win int he last min and half? or like in OT when we could haves topped them to need a FG to win? In the last 5 reg season games NE's O has toyed w/ us, they could score any time they really wanted to and would have scored more if they needed to in order to beat us that day.

keep in mind Montana was young and fragile at that point, there wer rumblings Montana would never be fully healthy again. Walsh was getting an insurance policy for Montana.

also, don't forget Young played in the USFL too.

so now MM was making the picks too? he's getting the blame over Matt Millen?

So what? One possession...don't ignore the 6 times we stopped them completely. We still had a top 10 defense last year as we have every year since Ryan was here. Had it mattered there was a better chance we would have stopped them than there was that they would have scored..assuming it actually mattered at that point.
