MCElroy coukdnt beat ou Sanchez, in any QB competition. Get real. And, FWIW..the upside in the WCO, is it cuts DOWN on decision making. Short drops, quick release. And in the short game Sanchez alleged flaws are overblown.
if the jets cut sanchez before june 1 he counts like 17 mill against the cap. if they cut him after june 1 they are on the hook for 12 this year and 4.5 next year if they trade him everything comes forward immediately correct? so the full 17 million will count against this year. so if i am correct its actually better this year to just cut him after june 1 instead of trading him for nothing and them picking up 1 million of his shitty contract and hte jets being responsible for 17 mill against the cap??? am i way off base here?
Again. June 1st is a designation. They can cut him today, and label him a June 1st cut. Sanchez, is not getting cut. now, can we please save the board 4 weeks of ignorance. (not directed at you AC, just the general population)
I'd say it's either cut him BEFORE 6/1 or just keep him for the season....... they're not getting squat in trade value
Oy. The other reason, he isnt getting cut, is because his salary is guaranteed. The bills cut Fitzpatrick, be ause his salary was not guaranteed, so youre accelerating the bonuses into the cap, soread out over 2 years. The Jets arent paying Sanchez 8 mil to go surfing, tocreate a roster spot for McElroy or Simms. You guys got to get off the hate.
Schefter says that "quarterbacks are a currency" and that the Jets are using Sanchez as such. He said they are waiting for an injury somewhere in this league in TC in hopes they can trade Sanchez to that team so they will take at least SOME of his salary. Not a bad plan at all if true.
Anyone who is on the fence whether Sanchez is the answer should re-watch the Titan game week 15. Even the most fervent Sancho nut-hugger can't explain away that performance.
If Sanchez is the Best QB on the Roster the Jets will win 5 games next year. But he's not, By Definition of career Gerrard is the Best QB on the roster...but he's old. I'd say it's 90% likely that Gerrard is the opening day QB and by midseason it'll be Smith.
he also never won the equivalent of 4 road playoff games in college either despite playing most of his career in a weak conference. I am not trying to knock Geno, I hope he's great for us but to say b/c mark had a terrible game at ten that he'll suck forever is just silly. oh boy you are back for more? who is this Gerrard guy? Mark Sanchez is a MUCH better QB than David Garrard.
Well lets see Sanchez didn't just have one bad game last year, he had 6 absolutely miserable games, and 2 bad games. vs about 3 good games. and 4 somewhat acceptable games. He had 8 games in total where he failed to complete 50% of his passes, one of them he didn't even complete 40%. He was atrocious overall and the only reason his season stats looked even as good as they were was the opening game blowout of the Bills. Though I will give him this, he saved his best for the Patriots...but his best was still only pretty much league average. And that's Mark's problem when he's at his very best games it's generally only a league average type of performance.
Yes he was terrible anyway you look at. Some people like to point out the embarrassing fumble on thanksgiving, others like to point out the Tennessee disaster, but in reality he was atrocious all year. I can't take another season of him chucking the football around with disregard. thankfully things are looking up because they just drafted his replacement. Whether he's better or not remains to be seen, but if he protects the ball like he did in college, he'll at least be one step ahead of Sanchez in my book. Feeling optimistic today
He was terrible most of the year, anyone would be w/ the healthy weapons he had to work with and sometimes players have bad years and come back to be good players. we'll run him out of town and he'll succeed again elsewhere then we'll run Geno out of town in 2-3 years and the cycle will continue...
Mark Sanchez is not better than Garrard has been. Not sure where Garrard is today but so far hes had a way better career with WAY less talent around him. He also did what Sanchez couldnt do: win @PIT in the playoffs. Garrard for 2013 QB please.
