So you are slobbing on Ivory's highlights while disregarding the business decision that makes sense and allows the best insight on how to use your resources. Tell me, did you know he has played in 6, 6, and 12 games in his three year career, and was injured before that in his last year in college at Tiffin?
Being the best QB prospect in this specific draft isn't impressive. This QB class is God awful. Smith isn't NFL ready and I don't honestly believe he has what it takes to be a good NFL QB. Ivory can't stay healthy and his production was a result of being on a team with an amazing pass offense and other good RBs to take the pressure off of him.
You guys don't watch the Saints enough.....there's a reason Saints fans hate to see him go. He was underutilized terribly and they let him go cause they're pick hungry and cause Payton still believes in Ingram. This dude's a killer. I like Franklin but he's no Ivory.
Exactly we have no clue what was said between the two teams. For all we know the Saints might of told the jets, give us your 4th now or this deal isn't going to happen.
I'm more convinced now than ever than some Jets fans would bitch about anything. They will never, ever be happy about a damn thing. Should have been a fifth, we should have gotten more for Revis, bad pick after bad pick, should have gotten a receiver over a guard, should have gotten a guard over a defensive player, everyone draft is spectacular except ours, enough of this BS I for one think Idzik did they right thing. Time will tell
Only RB that would have intrigued me a lot was Franklin, besides that, Ivory was better than any RB in this draft at this point.
Ivory's a baller. The only real issue is injuries. But he's well worth a 4th rounder. I really like the Goodson-Ivory-McKnight backfield
If I'm speculating the media's reports are accurate then you are just the same speculating that they're false. The media knew about this trade talk and they reported the Saints wanted a fourth, don't know why we would invent some other presumption just to suit our emotions on it. I'm hoping he plays well but Idzik lost this negotiation. This guy was part of a 5 guy backfield last year, the Saints love him so much they were compelled to keep an UDFA on the roster as the 5th guy.
100% agree. He's extremely talented. He's going to get a shot to lead here, lets hope he can stay on the field.
Stellar move, making offensive strides and I love, new QB, O-lineman, and now Ivory to complete the backfield, we might not be "good" this year, but I like the potential for this team in the years after.
He was the 2nd QB taken, in the 2nd round, in what is one of the worst draft classes in history. He is no different than any of the other 6 Air Raid QBs in the last decade who completely flopped in the NFL.
Okay guys, everyone finally recognizes Tannenbaum fucked up by trading up and giving away picks for players year after year. Now that it's a new GM, 'ah screw it, 4th rounders are basically trash.'
