With all the holes we have on offense, it amazes me that we pick a guy to ride the bench. QB's are supposed to be much better next year, why the hurry?
The crap on your list is all proven crap. Smith has a ton of potential and upside. Maybe he works out, maybe he doesn't. But until he PROVES it either way, he's better than any one of these other bums.
When Sanchez had weapons, he was still turning the ball over but the OFFENSE, including him, did something to allow 2 AFCCG appearances. Take his weapons away, the JETS tank and fail to make the playoffs. The problem was NOT the QB, the problem is the lack of WR, RB, and Oline and yet we get a damn QB! And bet this new QB wont do anything because he'll have nothing too. I dont like this move at all right now.
And like 80% with 10 TDs and 1 INT when the play breaks down, he's a play maker and wants the ball, he won't be intimidated coming to the NFL.
just because the QB's next year are SUPPOSED to be better, that means the QB's this year can't be any good? if the team believes Smith to be a great QB there is no need to wait until next year. whether that is the case or not remains to be seen.
Not only that but probably all but two of the hyped QB's will fall off the map between then and now. And there's nothing guaranteeing the Jets pick top 3 to grab Manziel or Bridgewater. And because Geno was a 2nd not a 1st, IF the Jets end up with a top 3 pick and Bridgewater is there to be had, they CAN still grab him.
There is a correlation between the Geno Smith haters and Sanchez lovers. The Jets needed a QB and picked up someone that could sit for a year or start if they win the job. Geno is gonna bring some excitement to this franchise.
