The Tebow knock aside (which is just ridiculous), I agree. There's actually know competition. Sanchez is clearly done. Let the Garrard mentorship program begin.

You still pick a QB, and trade Geno for a 2nd round pick or keep them both and see who ends up being our starter long term.

For the record I think all of the teams picking directly after us have taken what was BPA where we picked.

    9. Chance Warmack OG
    13. Star Latuleilei DT
    39. Tank Carradine OLB

Watch these three dudes make some noise in the next couple years.

Hope we at least trade back up into round two (top of round 3) to get some of the better talent left.

As if picking Smith was the thing that indicated Sanchez was done after this year. What a waste of a pick I am so pissed.

Why not? Geno can be a backup.... His salary won't be much

Nothing says the Jets won't draft another Qb in '14 and trade Smith for DP's if there's a market. I'd would have like to have seen McCarron in green and white. I liked what I saw in the BCS champ game.

Thanks for creating this thread. I didn't want to have to scroll through the 14 other threads on the same subject to find your post.

Pretty much the way I feel.

Don't like the immature attitude displayed by not returning for the 2nd night. Man up, dude. This is the NFL. Suck it up, like you're going to have to suck up a lot of stuff, especially in NY.

So, I'm hoping this is not a character flaw. The last thing we need is a Prima-Donna after Californication El Guappo.

How do you know that?? Many teams pick up backup QB's in the 2nd round of the draft nowadays..

Comparing Smith and Young is crazy. They ran completely different offenses and Smith's stats destroy Young's. Young ran a 1-read, option offense. Smith ran a 3 and 4-wide pro style offense. Smith is not a read option QB. He did not run read option. And he is incredibly accurate. Not to mention he has a real body of work. Young was a one-hit wonder.

Will he be RGIII or Luck? No. but comparing him to a bum like Young is nuts.

Did you watch these kids play in college?

Geno Smith is nothing like Russell Wilson. Comparing the two is absurd.

BPA according to who? Everyone's list is different and I mean everyone. From Mel Kiper to Todd McShay to the thirty-two different war room boards.

Yes you can, they used a second round pick on a QB if Bridgewater is as great as everyone says he is and becomes an RG3 like prospect, you saw how much St Louis was screwed by not picking him.
