The Jets will not get the 1st pick. No chance they are that bad. And as much as I like Geno, I think Bridgewater is better than him, as is Johnny Football.
He didn't have a crazy amount of drops and Hill didn't catch enough passes to have the drop label in college. Hunter runs great routes, beats press, speed guy, tall and physical, and is a terrific athlete. He also had some great catches in college. The kid is much more polished than Patterson and Hill. Those two are much more comparable than Hunter is in regards to either.
Honestly, I would be okay with Geno. If we hit, suddenly we become a (somewhat) good team. If not, we only lose a 2nd round pick. My only issue is that I don't think any QB will develop in our abysmal offense, so I hope he sits for a year if we do pick him.
people were talking about the Jets using a 1st round pick on Geno Smith - that would have sucked - this is merely "meh"
Jets need to get some aerialist and lion tamer tonight. They can't just have elephants and clowns in the circus.
Those guys aren't any more or less a sure thing than Geno is. Why wait a year? We could get a potential franchise QB this year, which speeds up the rebuilding process if Geno sucks then it won't hurt our cap.
If the Jets think he's the QB of the future they take him. They know more than we do. I support whoever the QB is.
Only guy I want nothing to do with is Te'o. That would make the Jets a laughingstock, even though I think he will be a good player..
