This is straight up foolish. No way around it.

You think Rex is the only person to talk to a draftee the night before the draft the way he did? EVERY GM/coach sells a draftee on the plan the team has for him. Get a clue.

You ever think the Austin hype was a smokescreen? Or only other teams do that right, because the Jets just do nothing right.

I do wonder if something like this might have happened. Obviously we'll never know for sure ... at least not for a long time.

I was livid at first. However, I will say that it is pretty interesting that only 4 offensive skill players were taken.

I think we go all offense for the next two rounds, including a quarterback. Idzik knows what he's doing.

    Smokescreen. Hahaha.

If you are buying that and Idzik's garbage about getting 2 of their top 4 rated players then I got some beachfront property in Arkansas to sell you. PM ME.

Yeah you can debate Floyd and Richardson. I think the amount of DT needing teams passing on Floyd indicates something though.

Milliner is def a better prospect than Rhodes, although i do like Rhodes quite a bit too.

Minnesota's draft is done. I'm comfortable our prospects are better at the same positions, with the rest of the draft still ahead of us.
There is absolutely no way you can reasonably say Minn slayed the draft, while the Jets messed it up, unless you are trying to make headlines.

    I'm thinking Montee Ball...

  9. I don't think it's that far fetched. Milliner was clearly the best player available at #9 & all the value at # 13 was on the DL. Pre-draft every one knew that Star might be a possibility depending on how the draft fell. Well as it turns out...the Jets liked Richardson better. When you go back & watch the film it isn't hard to see why. Star is a nasty prospect in his own right but Richardson gives you more versatility, better pass rush & athleticism.

Why does everything have to be so negative & be looped into some conspiracy theory?

You are talking WAY too much sense, I don't know if this thread can handle it. People aren't happy here unless they have something to be unhappy about.

These picks were 100% Rex picks, both of them, it's obvious, Idzik isn't running anything, it's all Rex and Woody.

haha, i do have a hard time believing 2 of the top 4 prospects line.
He mentioned there were also offensive guys in their top 4.......so with 3 stud OT's, Austin, not to mention Dion Jordan. granted they were all gone by 9, but hard to imagine they weren't rated up real high as well.

For some strange reason I thought we were going to move down with a trade from the saints and get Ivory with the 15th pick. Was hoping for War at 9 and Austin at 15. Kind of a pipe dream now. But I like what we got ( BPA ) and now lets do some damage on offence in the next couple of rounds. - Go Jets

Star is a BEAST, he was going to go first pick overall before the heart scare, then he dropped, for him to drop to us at 13 was a god-send. Plus we don't have to change anything, just plop him in at NT. We we change to the 4-3 and who knows how Wilk and Coples take to that.

Warmack was a real need for us, even Eifert I liked, but if they can grab Zach Ertz I'll get over that one.

Well Floyd dropping probably had more to do with Miami swooping in at No. 3 than concerns about his play. But more importantly, he and Lotulelei falling made the Richardson pick that much more of a reach.

I definitely think Minn slayed it. And I'm not trying to kill the Jets for the actual players, just the lack of value in the use of the pick.

I am happy with Millliner, he seems like he'd be a great fit with the Jets aggressive style and hopefully brings a bit of fire back to the team. That being said I feel like there were positions we needed to fill more urgently.

Richardson at best will become a rotational player.

  18. I liked Star too..but the man fell for a reason.

There were questions about his ability to play 3-4 NT. He doesn't play w/ the widest base in the world & appears to be better suited for 3 technique & 5 technique.

He's also a similar body type to both Wilk & Ellis.

Richardson is ALSO a fit at 3T & 5T. What he brings is superior pass rush ability, athleticism & a bit of a different body type than what the Jets already had on the DL.
